Abstract: A golf club head having a laser-generated features to create contrast on the club face of the golf club head. The club face includes a central region, a toe region, and a heel region. The central region includes a first plurality of laser-generated features that provide a height-intersection coverage of the central region, a width-intersection coverage of the central region, and a surface-area coverage of the central region. The laser-generated features increase the surface roughness value of the external surface of the club face by imparting micro-grooves that have an average groove depths of between about 45 μm and about 60 μm.

Abstract: A golf club head includes a body defining an interior cavity. The body includes a sole positioned at a bottom portion of the golf club head, a crown positioned at a top portion, and a skirt positioned around a periphery between the sole and crown. The body has a forward portion and a rearward portion. The club head includes a face positioned at the forward portion of the body. In some embodiments, the crown includes a lattice-like structure having thin regions surrounded by a web of relatively thicker regions. In some embodiments, the club head includes one or more stiffening tubes attached between the sole and the crown to improve the acoustic performance of the golf club head.

Abstract: A method of customizing a golf club, wherein the method includes generating operating data representative of a user operating a mechanical device. The operating data is generated by a first sensor sized and configured to be removably positioned in a mounting port formed on the mechanical device during operation of the mechanical device. The sensor is interchangeably positionable in the mounting port with at least one mass insert, the at least one mass insert being adapted to be interchangeably positioned in the mounting to provide at least two different mass configurations. The method further includes determining a recommended configuration of the at least one mass insert specific to the user based on the operating data generated by the sensor, and transmitting information representative of the recommended mass insert.

Abstract: A process of manufacturing a golf club component includes spreading a thin layer of metal powder over a build plane defined over a build platform and bonding, using a laser, portions of the thin layer of metal powder. The spreading and bonding are repeated until the golf club component is formed. The golf club component comprises a lattice structure positioned within an internal cavity of the golf club component and the lattice structure is interrupted by a solid portion that extends along a bottom side of the golf club component from a toe region of the golf club component to a location between the toe region and a heel region of the golf club component.

Abstract: Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head includes a metal body portion including a front portion having a peripheral face portion surrounding an opening. A face plate is set in the opening and includes a metal bezel welded to the opening and a strike assembly set in the bezel. The strike assembly includes an outer metal sheet welded to the metal bezel, an inner metal sheet welded to the metal bezel, and an intermediate composite sheet disposed between the outer metal sheet and the inner metal sheet. The intermediate composite sheet includes a fiber reinforced thermoplastic having a plurality of discontinuous fibers transversely aligned. The channel may be recessed from adjacent surfaces of the sole and have a depth of recession from the adjacent surfaces of the sole. The channel may have a cross-sectional profile that is asymmetric with a front wall and a rear wall where the front wall is longer than the rear wall. The channel may also have a center thickness that is different than a thickness at the heel and toe sides.
