摘要： A docking station is provided. The docking station has an engagement member, a coupling detector, a connector, an advancing and retracting mechanism, and a controller. The engagement member can be inserted into an engagement hole of a portable information device. The coupling detector detects whether or not the engagement member has been engaged with the engagement hole. The connector can be connected to a connection terminal provided in a side surface of the portable information device. The advancing and retracting mechanism is operated by the driving force of a motor to advance and retract the connector to connect and separate the connector to/from the connection terminal. The controller operates the advancing and retracting mechanism when it is detected that the portable information device is coupled with the docking station to advance the connector to connect the connector to the connection terminal.

摘要： A keyboard device for a portable computer is disclosed. The portable computer includes a main body chassis and a display chassis. The main body chassis contains the keyboard device having multiple keycaps elastically supported to be moved up and down. Coupled to the main body chassis via a hinge, the display chassis contains a display. The main body chassis also includes a key depressing mechanism having a rotating shaft member provided along each of the keycaps and a pressing piece projecting from the outer circumferential surface of the rotating shaft member to the side of the keycap to allow a receiving part provided in the keycap to be depressed downward. The rotating shaft member rotates about the axis to cause the pressing piece to push down the receiving part and, in turn, pushing down and keeping the keycap in a depressed position.

摘要： An electronic device having a portable information equipment and an expansion unit is disclosed. The portable information equipment can be a tablet PC and the expansion unit is configured to expand a function of the tablet PC. The expansion unit includes an attachment part having a hook configured to be movable in an engagement direction from a non-engagement position to an engagement position, in the non-engagement position. The hook can be inserted into an engagement hole disposed at an attached part of the tablet PC in the engagement position. The hook can be further movable in a pulling direction of pulling the tablet PC towards the expansion unit 14, with the pulling direction being orthogonal to the engagement direction. A lever is utilized to move the hook in the engagement direction and in the pulling direction.

摘要： A laptop personal computer (PC) is disclosed. The laptop PC includes a hinge unit that turns around a vertical axis and rotates around a horizontal axis, and the hinge unit connects a main body chassis to a display chassis. The hinge unit includes an inside, through which cables connecting a main body and a display pass. A path is provided, along which the cables are installed, and the path includes a part that is parallel to the vertical axis and is apart from the vertical axis and having a part overlapping with the horizontal axis towards the vertical axis. The cover is provided at the display chassis for covering the cables overlapping with the horizontal axis. This can eliminate the necessity of a cover for the cables on the side of the hinge unit, thus making the laptop PC thinner.
