    摘要: The present invention relates to a network management system, a network element and a method for managing the network management system, the system operating in a computer or telecommunication network. The network comprises at least one network element that is able to communicate in the network through links. A network management software is contained and run on the network element. According to the present invention the network management software comprises controlling means for each management function or functions that the network element is part of, the controlling means being able to form, reform and/or terminate the topology for the management function. It further comprises register means for each management function or functions that the network element is part of, the register means being able to register and share information about the topology for the management function.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a node supporting networking and communication with other nodes by means of a layered communication protocol and group communication with other nodes controlled via a grouping protocol adapted to interact with said communication protocol. The node comprises a policy engine which is arranged separately from, but in communication with said grouping protocol. The policy engine is adapted to establish current and/or changing node, group and network related information and to use one or more grouping policies to automatically and dynamically control grouping related actions and adapt the grouping. The invention also relates to a system comprising a number of such nodes and a method of controlling grouping.

    摘要: A traffic network having a wired as well as a wireless network backbone is managed. The wireless network backbone has relay nodes having wireless routers, some acting as gateways to the wired backbone network and some as relay bridge routers for access network access. A management system has a logical multilevel hierarchical network overlying the traffic network. It is adapted to use the relay nodes as management stations. It performs a grouping process by arranging network nodes, including the relay nodes, in groups, each with a cluster head, on different hierarchical levels. A grouping controller controls the grouping and allocation of cluster heads based on a number of grouping constraints given by one or more criteria to be fulfilled at each hierarchical level. The criteria are calculated based on given metrics, the constraints are modeled, and fulfillment of the constraints is verified at each hierarchical level.

The node encodes a received event notification into a second summary and then checks if the received event notification is a member of the set by comparing the first summary and the second summary. If the event notification is not a member of the set said notification is discarded.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a network management system for management of a traffic network comprising a wired as well as a wireless network backbone. The wireless network backbone comprises relay nodes comprising wireless routers, some acting as gateways to the wired backbone network and some as relay bridge routers for access network access. The management system comprises a logical multilevel hierarchical network overlying the traffic network. It is adapted to use the infrastructure of the traffic network by using the relay nodes as management stations. It comprises grouping means adapted to perform a grouping process by arranging network nodes, comprising the relay nodes, in groups, each with selected a cluster head, on different hierarchical levels. Grouping control means are provided to control the grouping and allocation of cluster heads based on a number of grouping constraints given by one or more criteria to be fulfilled at each hierarchical level. Calculating means are adapted to calculate the criteria based on given metrics and modeling and verification means are provided for modeling the constraints and verifying fulfillment of said constraints at each hierarchical level.
