Abstract: Methods and systems for presenting transportation options that utilize different modalities are provided. In one embodiment, a method is provided that includes receiving a location of a mobile device. A map may then be generated on the mobile device that depicts an area surrounding the location of the mobile device. An information value of the map may be determined and a first position of a panel may be determined based on the information value. The map and the panel may be displayed, with the panel overlaying at least a portion of the map in the first position.

Abstract: Methods and systems for identifying and selectively displaying indications of nearby vehicles are presented. In one example, a method is provided that includes receiving locations of vehicles located near a location of a user device. The vehicles may include vehicles of a first type and vehicles of a second type. A cluster including at least a first subset of the vehicles of the first type may be identified and a location of the cluster may be identified. The location of the cluster may represent the location of at least one of the first subset of the vehicles. A second subset of the vehicles of the second type may then be identified including at most a predetermined quantity of vehicles. A map may be generated that includes a first indication at the location of the cluster and second indications at the location of the second subset of the vehicles.

Abstract: The present application discloses systems, methods, and computer-readable media that can intelligently generate a graphical user interface (GUI) having expandable and/or collapsible interface elements that flexibly, efficiently, and accurately provide transportation mode options and transportation sub-options on a computing device. For example, based on monitored transportation features of provider devices and requestor devices, the disclosed systems can dynamically determine a first tier of transportation mode option interface elements and a second tier of transportation sub-option interface elements within accordion-based elements that are operable to display and hide the second tier. Additionally, the disclosed systems can, based on the monitored transportation features of provider devices and requestor devices, dynamically control the expanded (or collapsed) states, positioning, availability states, and/or preselection of accordion-based selectable transportation mode option interface elements and/or transportation sub-option interface elements within a GUI.
