    Abstract: A first communication device generates a null data packet (NDP) announcement (NDPA) frame, which indicates that the first communication device will transmit a first NDP after transmitting the NDPA frame, and which includes information that indicates the NDPA frame is part of a ranging measurement exchange session. The first communication device transmits the NDPA frame as part of the ranging measurement exchange session, and transmits the first NDP after transmitting the NDPA frame. The first communication device receives a second NDP from a second communication device as part of the ranging measurement exchange session, and receives a feedback packet from the second communication device as part of the ranging measurement exchange session. The feedback packet includes feedback information regarding the ranging measurement exchange session.

    Abstract: A first communication device includes a first timer and a second communication device includes a second timer. The first communication device receives, from the second communication device, a packet that includes a timestamp that corresponds to a least significant portion of the second timer. The first communication device determines whether a most significant bit of a least significant portion of the first timer is different than a most significant bit of the timestamp. At least when the most significant bit of the least significant portion of the first timer is different than the most significant bit of the timestamp: the first communication device determines a mathematical difference between i) the least significant portion of the first timer and ii) the timestamp, and selectively adjusts a most significant portion of the first timer based on the mathematical difference. The first communication device uses the timestamp to set the least significant portion of the first timer.

    Abstract: A system includes a modulator to modulate data using Quadrature Phase Shift Keying modulation and dual sub-carrier modulation to generate modulated symbols for transmission on a plurality of subcarriers. A repetition module repeats the modulated symbols from a first half of the plurality of subcarriers to a second half of the plurality of subcarriers. A phase rotation module rotates phase of the modulated symbols on selected subcarriers of the second half of the plurality of subcarriers. The selected subcarriers include all of the second half of the plurality of subcarriers. The phase rotation module rotates the phase of the modulated symbols on all of the second half of the plurality of subcarriers to conjugate the modulated symbols on all of the second half of the plurality of subcarriers relative to corresponding modulated symbols on all of the first half of the plurality of subcarriers.

    Abstract: Systems, devices, and techniques relating to a link layer service platform (LSP) that provides, among other things, assisted multi-band wireless communications are described. A described device includes a first radio to transmit and receive based on a first wireless protocol; a second radio to transmit and receive based on a second wireless protocol, the second wireless protocol being different from the first wireless protocol; and a controller to use the first radio to assist communications via the second radio.     Abstract: A method for adjusting an arrival time of a first orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) data unit of an uplink multi-user (MU) data unit is described. Respective round trip times (RTTs) are determined by a first communication device for multiple communication devices that communicate with the first communication device. A first time offset for a second communication device of the multiple communication devices is determined by the first communication device based on the respective RTTs. The first OFDM data unit is to be transmitted by the second communication device. A first timing control message that indicates the first time offset is generated by the first communication device. The first timing control message is caused by the first communication device to be transmitted to the second communication device.

    Abstract: A network interface of a wireless network device generates a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) sequence using information bits of a signal field of a physical layer (PHY) preamble of a PHY data unit, including generating the CRC sequence using a CRC polynomial. The network interface generates a CRC field to be included in the signal field, including generating the CRC field to include a portion of the CRC sequence. The network interface generates the PHY data unit to include the PHY preamble, the PHY preamble having the signal field, the signal field having the information bits and the CRC field that includes the portion of the CRC sequence, where the PHY data unit is generated such that the signal field does not include the entire CRC sequence. The network interface generates a transmission signal for transmission in the wireless network, the transmission signal corresponding to the PHY data unit.

    Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide methods and systems for adaptively controlling uplink communications parameters of a receiving station by an access point. In some embodiments, the uplink power and/or uplink rate of a receiving station is controlled by the access point based on uplink RSSI and/or SNR measurements of uplink packets sent by the receiving station to the access point. For example, the access point may adjust a target RSSI value based on the uplink RSSI and/or SNR measurements of uplink packets in the allocated resource unit. The adjusted target RSSI value is sent to the receiving station in a trigger frame from the access point and the receiving station may then set the uplink transmission power based on the target RSSI value.

    Abstract: A first format according to which a PHY data unit is to be generated is selected. The data unit is generated according to the first format, including generating a PHY preamble of the PHY data unit to include a first field and a second field. The PHY preamble is generated so that one or more OFDM symbols are rotated by 90 degrees with respect to other OFDM symbols in the PHY preamble to signal the first format. Or, the first field is generated to include a set of bits that according to an error detection scheme that does not conform to a second format; or the set of information bits indicates a mode not supported in connection with the second format.     Abstract: A radiofrequency system includes a plurality of transceivers providing a plurality of channels, and circuitry configured to perform off-channel functions. A first subset of channels performs radiofrequency communication functions, and a second subset of channels provides signals for the off-channel functions. The first subset of channels may be provided by a first subset of transceivers, and the second subset of channels may be provided by a second subset of transceivers. A spectrum sensing unit may select between the first subset of transceivers and the second subset of transceivers. The circuitry configured to perform the off-channel functions may use the second subset of the plurality of channels to perform neighborhood discovery. The circuitry configured to perform the off-channel functions may scan available communications channels for interference, storing identifications of interference-free channels, and, upon detection of interference on a channel in use, may select one of the interference-free channels.
