Abstract:
A simple doll stand for the rapid mounting and removal of a doll, which holds a doll in a natural manner and which enables a child to easily rock the doll to make it shake in dance-like movements. The stand includes a disc-like base with ribs extending from a lower face to rockingly support the base on a flat surface. A pair of tubular foot-holders extend from the upper face of the base, each tubular holder having a slot along the front so that a doll''s leg can be held within the slotted tube with the foot of the doll protruding through the slot. The tubular foot-holders are detachable and can be mounted to extend from the same side of the base as the ribs, so that the stand does not rock.
Abstract:
A doll which can pivot at the waist to perform a shaking dance movement, including an elongated rubber coupling member that connects the upper and lower torso portions of the doll. The lower torso portion has a convexly rounded top while the upper torso portion partially encompasses the top of the lower torso. The coupling member is constructed to hold the torso portions a small distance apart to prevent interference as they pivot on one another, and it has a narrowest diameter within the lower torso portion and near the center of curvature of the convexly rounded part thereof to allow pivoting thereabout.
Abstract:
A walking doll of the type having a leg frame pivotally mounted in an upright torso on a generally fore-and-aft axis and drivingly connected to the torso by a crank for oscillating the torso and frame relative to each other about the fore-and-aft axis and in a lateral direction so that the weight of the doll is cyclically thrown onto one of the doll''s legs while the other leg is lifted free of a supporting surface for forward movement is provided with a greater-than-normal crank throw and with friction-reducing means between the ground-contacting ends of the legs and the supporting surface for increasing the oscillating amplitude and for impeding forward movement of the doll so that the doll simulates dancing action. An oscillator bar connects the leg frame to the doll''s arms and head for oscillating them to heighten the dancing simulation.
