Abstract: A lock of hair is arranged in protruding relation through an opening in a figure toy head with one end of the lock rooted about the opening and with a pull ring encompassing the lock inside the head intermediate the ends of the lock. A pull cord is connected to the ring and may be mechanically pulled to retract the lock after the lock has been manually pulled from the head. A friction clip engages the pull cord to impart drag to the cord.

Abstract: Drawing apparatus including a doll with pivotable joints, a desk which can capture the shoes of the doll so that the doll''s arms lie over the upper desk surface, a drawing instrument designed to be held by a hand of the doll to feed a crayon therefrom so that the doll can draw on paper laid on the upper surface of the desk, and a wand for movement by a child, the wand having a magnet that can be moved around a region beneath the upper desk surface to pull the drawing instrument and crayon therein along a sheet of paper on the desk. A template defining a design to be drawn is placed on the desk beneath a sheet of paper, so that movement of the crayon results in the template design being drawn on the paper. The drawing instrument includes a spring or flat plate of rubber with a hole through which a crayon can be inserted so that the crayon is held tightly in place, and so that the crayon tends to be fed outwardly with a predetermined force.

Abstract: A stage for use with a doll that can flex at the waist, to make the doll perform an entertaining dance, including a pair of foot holders for engaging the feet of the doll. One of the foot holders is stationary while the other is vertically oscillated by an electric motor to cause the doll to sway at the waist. A child can operate a manual speed control to increase the oscillation speed past the natural frequency of oscillation of the doll at the waist, to make the doll''s swinging change from a large moderately slow movement to a rapid small movement.

Abstract: A doll which can walk forward while swinging its arms, and head or can dance in place with its arms and head swinging like a gogo dancer. The doll includes a driving unit within the doll torso which oscillates to sway the torso from side to side, and which pivots the legs back and forth to take a step at each oscillation. A linkage couples the driving unit to the arms so that the unit also pivots the arms and head as it oscillates within the torso. Switching from the walking mode to the dancing mode is accomplished by merely operating a switch to reverse the motor in the driving unit.

Abstract: A doll which can pivot at the waist to perform a shaking dance movement, including an elongated rubber coupling member that connects the upper and lower torso portions of the doll.
