Abstract: A lithium-ion battery device comprises a housing, a battery cell stored inside the housing, and an adjacent member provided adjacently to and on a rearward side, in a vehicle longitudinal direction, of the battery cell. The battery cell comprises a cell case, an electrode body stored inside the cell case, and a pair of terminals. The cell case includes a first main face and a second main face which face to each other in the vehicle longitudinal direction. At least two gap-forming portions which respectively have a smaller area than the second main face and have a specified thickness of the vehicle longitudinal direction are arranged between the second main face and the adjacent member. The two gap-forming portions are provided to be spaced apart from each other in an inter-terminal direction of the battery cell.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to solve the problem of a decomposed product of cyclic ester that causes cycle deterioration and storage deterioration of a lithium ion secondary battery. As a solution for the problem, the lithium ion secondary battery includes; a positive electrode; a negative electrode using a graphite-based carbon material as a negative electrode active material; an electrolyte in which lithium salt is dissolved in a nonaqueous solvent containing cyclic ester; and either a barrier layer 15 configured to inhibit contact of the cyclic ester with the negative electrode or a capturing material configured to trap a decomposed product of the cyclic ester generated at the negative electrode.

Abstract: A vehicle battery system configured to appropriately control a battery installed in a vehicle includes a controller and a rechargeable battery installed in the vehicle in a replaceable manner, charged by an electric power generator, and supplies electric power to auxiliary equipment of the vehicle. The controller determines whether a first battery or a second battery with charging efficiency lower than the first battery is installed in the vehicle as the rechargeable battery and, when determining that the second battery is installed as the rechargeable battery, makes the maximum generated power voltage that is the maximum value of the generated power voltage of the electric power generator higher than when determining that the first battery is installed.

Abstract: An electrolyte to be used in a lithium ion secondary battery that contains a graphite-based carbon material as a negative electrode active material is obtained by dissolving a lithium salt in a nonaqueous solvent. The nonaqueous solvent contains a cyclic carbonate and a cyclic ester. The proportion of the sum of the cyclic carbonate and the cyclic ester in the total amount of the nonaqueous solvent is 85 vol % or more. The proportion of the cyclic carbonate in the sum of the cyclic carbonate and the cyclic ester is 60 vol % or more to 95 vol % or less.
