Abstract: In one embodiment, a female data-connector device includes a housing having a socket to insert therein a first paddle-card having a first form-factor and a second paddle-card having a second form-factor, the socket includes an upper and lower surface, with N contact pins arranged in a first row and M contact pins arranged in a second row on the upper surface, P contact pins arranged in a first row and Q contact pins arranged in a second row on the lower surface, the M and Q and some of the N and P contact pins are arranged to make contact with contact pads of the first paddle-card, the N and P contact pins are arranged to make contact with contact pads of the second paddle-card, N is greater than M, and P is greater than Q, and termination legs to be connected to a printed circuit board.

Abstract: A connector for a networking cable assembly includes a substrate, a first set of contacts on a first surface of the substrate that electrically connect to leads of a first cable, and a second set of contacts on the first surface of the substrate that electrically connect to leads of a second cable. The first set of contacts are spaced apart from the second set of contacts in a first direction by an amount that enables the second cable to be stacked on the first cable and passed over the first set of contacts to electrically connect to the leads of the second cable.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods are described that provide improved networking communication systems and associated adapters. An example networking communication adapter includes an adapter housing defining a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The first end is configured to engage an Octal Small Form Factor Pluggable (OSFP) connector, and the second end is configured to receive a Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable Double Density (QSFP-DD) transceiver therein. The networking communication adapter further includes an inner connector positioned within the adapter housing. In an operational configuration in which the first end engages the OSFP connector and the second end receives the QSFP-DD transceiver, the inner connector operably connects the QSFP-DD transceiver with the OSFP connector such that signals may pass therebetween.
