Abstract: A conferencing system terminal device includes an image capture device capturing images of a subject during a videoconference occurring across a network and a communication device transmitting the images to at least one remote electronic device engaged in the videoconference. The conferencing system terminal device includes one or more sensors determining that one or more portions of the subject are obscured in the images and one or more processors. The one or more processors apply obscured subject compensation content to the images at locations where the one or more portions of the subject are obscured, during the videoconference, and prior to the communication device transmitting the images to the at least one remote electronic device engaged in the videoconference.

Abstract: In aspects of conditional device application activation responsive to a notification trigger, a dual-screen device has a secondary screen to display a notification associated with a device application, and has a primary screen to display a user interface of the device application responsive to activation of the notification. The dual-screen device implements a notification control module to receive a trigger input of the notification to activate the device application, and determine one or more conditions that facilitate activation of the device application in a current configuration of the dual-screen device. The notification control module can then maintain the notification for subsequent display if the one or more conditions are not conducive to facilitate the activation of the device application responsive to the trigger input of the notification.

Abstract: A method, a mobile device, and a computer program product for locking a touch screen of a mobile device. The method includes playing video on a display, detecting movement of the mobile device and calculating a movement value. The method further includes determining if the movement value is greater than a movement value threshold and in response to determining that the movement value is greater than the movement value threshold, triggering a sensor component to detect activity data associated with a current use of the mobile device. The method further includes determining if the detected activity data matches reference activity data corresponding to use of the mobile device by a specific user of the mobile device and in response to determining that the detected activity data does not match the reference activity data, rejecting inputs to the touch screen to prevent interruption of the playing of the video.

Abstract: An electronic device, computer program product, and method provide private messaging between people at a frequented location by using one or more AR display devices. The electronic device communicatively connects to a particular AR display device and attempts to identify access credentials to the electronic device of a particular person wearing the particular AR display device. The electronic device identifies that the particular person is a second person has limited access credentials, at the electronic device, to an AR user interface for leaving a private AR message intended for a first person who has full access credentials to the electronic device. The electronic device presents, at the particular AR display device, the AR user interface. The electronic device receives an AR private message from the particular AR display device and stores the AR private message for retrieval at the electronic device by first person.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a display, one or more sensors, a communication device, one or more processors, and a memory. The one or more processors present an image from an image content file depicting representations of one or more persons on the display. The one or more sensors detect user input interacting with the display at one or more locations corresponding to the representations of the one or more persons. Thereafter, the one or more sensors detect a lifting gesture lifting the electronic device from a first position to a second, more elevated position. The one or more processors cause, in response to the one or more sensors detecting the user input and the lifting gesture, the communication device to initiate communication with one or more remote electronic devices associated with the one or more persons depicted in the image.

Abstract: An electronic device includes one or more processors. When a first sensor delivers a first signal to the one or more processors indicating that the electronic device is in a stowed state, and a second sensor delivers a second signal to the one or more processors indicating that the electronic device is in a held state the one or more processors query the third sensor for a third signal indicating whether the electronic device is in the stowed state. The one or more processors perform a control operation when the third signal fails to indicate the electronic device is in the stowed state. The one or more processors omit performance of the control operation when the third signal indicates the electronic device is in the stowed state.

Abstract: An electronic device, method and computer program product enable detecting user attention to dynamic content and enabling subsequent user access. The electronic device includes display device(s), a memory containing application(s) and a content monitoring supervisor (CMS) application, and a controller. The controller is communicatively coupled to the display device(s) and the memory and which executes the CMS application to configure the electronic device to perform functionality. The functionality includes retrieving content requested by the application(s). The functionality includes presenting at least a portion of the content on the display device(s). The functionality includes storing information associated with a particular portion of the content in response to determining that the particular portion has been viewed by a user of the electronic device for more than a time threshold. The functionality includes enabling access to the stored information by a second user in response to authenticating supervisory credentials of the second user.
