    Abstract: A device, system and method for correcting operational device errors is provided. A memory stores first operational data associated with first context data and a first device, the first operational data indicative of how a given user action is performed at the first device to implement a given function defined by the first context data. A controller receives data indicative of a user action at a second device; when the data does not correspond to a respective function at the second device, and when current context data of the second device corresponds to the first context data of the first device, an intended function for the user action is identified by comparing the data with the first operational data. When a correspondence occurs, operational information indicative of how to implement the given function at the second device is retrieved and provided at one or more notification devices.

    Abstract: A device and method for switching between message threads is provided. The device includes: a communication interface; a display device; and, a controller. The controller is configured to: generate, at the display device, a first message thread of a plurality of message threads, each message thread comprising groups of associated messages transmitted and received by the communication interface; identify a message portion in the first message thread as being associated with one or more other message threads of the plurality of message threads, based on one or more of: respective content and respective metadata of the one or more other message threads; and, generate, at the display device, a link to the one or more other message threads.

    Abstract: A device and method for hierarchical object recognition is provided. The device comprises: an augmented reality display device including a camera, a display device, and an eye-tracking device; an input device; a memory storing a hierarchical object recognition library arranged in a plurality of levels; and a controller. The controller receives, using the input device, an indication of a selected level of the hierarchical object recognition library. The controller determines, using the eye-tracking device, an eye-gaze direction. The controller recognizes at least one object in an image from the camera in the eye-gaze direction by comparing at least a region of the image in the eye-gaze direction with the selected level of the hierarchical object recognition library. The controller controls the display device to indicate a recognized object in the eye-gaze direction.

    Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for automatically captioning images using swipe gestures as inputs. One example apparatus includes an electronic processor. The electronic processor is configured to receive an image. The electronic processor is configured to control a display to display the image. The electronic processor is configured to detect a first object in the image. The electronic processor is configured to detect a second object in the image. The electronic processor is configured to receive, from the display, a first swipe gesture. The electronic processor is configured to, responsive to receiving the first swipe gesture, determine a direction of the first swipe gesture relative to the first object and the second object. The electronic processor is configured to determine a word choice based on the first direction. The electronic processor is configured to generate a caption describing the image based on the word choice.
