摘要: Methods and systems for responding to a query in a communication system. One system includes an electronic computing device including a transceiver configured to receive a query from a communication device. The electronic computing device further includes an electronic processor configured to generate a response to the query, and determine a channel availability of a communication system that the electronic computing device uses to communicate with the communication device. The electronic processor is further configured to transmit, via the transceiver, the response to the communication device as voice data over a voice channel in response to determining that the channel availability is above a predetermined threshold. The electronic processor is further configured to transmit the response to the communication device as text data over a text channel separate from the voice channel in response to determining that the channel availability is below the predetermined threshold.

摘要: A method and apparatus for PTT over IoT is described herein. During operation, each IoT device will be assigned to a talkgroup. Some talkgroups may have a single IoT device assigned, and other talkgroups may have multiple IoT devices assigned. During operation, a control command is received over a first talkgroup that is used to control a first IoT device assigned to that talkgroup. Prior to executing the control command, a set of secondary IoT devices will be determined based on a task assigned to the officer. The secondary IoT devices will be accessed to determine their statuses. The status of the secondary IoT devices will be used as a trigger as to whether or not to allow the control command to be sent to the first IoT device.

摘要: A device and method for convoy navigation is provided. An audio device comprises: a memory; a speaker; a communication interface; a location determining device; and a controller. The controller: receives, from a second audio device, via the communication interface, on a narrowband communication channel, audio information and an associated location of the second audio device, the associated location indicative of where the second audio device transmitted the audio information; stores, at the memory, the audio information and the associated location; tracks, using the location determining device, a current location of the audio device; and when the current location of the audio device is at about the associated location, controls the speaker to play the audio information.

摘要: A method and apparatus for correcting a wrongly-translated word in a device employing speech recognition is provided herein. During operation, a device will use a second language to correct a wrongly-translated word that was wrongly translated using a first language. More particularly, after speech recognition is performed using the first language, when a user selects text to be corrected, the user will utter the speech again using the second language that differs from the first language. Both the first and the second language can be used by the device to determine a best translation of the speech.

Users that are geographically near the IoT device are determined and polled as to whether or not they agree with the action command. If users near the IoT device agree to the action command, then a command is issued to a first IoT device assigned to that talkgroup.

摘要: A device, system and method for failure management in push to talk for the internet of things is provided. A Push-To-Talk (PTT) server receives, from a device, a control command for an Internet-of-Things (IoT) device, the IoT device and the device mapped to a talkgroup identifier identifying a talkgroup used by the device to send the control command; outputting, via the PTT server, to the IoT device, the control command. The PTT server determines that the control command has failed. The PTT server transmits, to the device, an indication that the control command has failed, the indication transmitted over the talkgroup identified by the talkgroup identifier.
