    Abstract: A force-scalable stationary interface control is provided. The control includes a knob-like structure including an axis and a fixed surface located at least partially around the axis, and a touch sensor located at least partially around the fixed surface, the touch sensor configured to sense a plurality of different levels of applied pressure and locations of touch input. The control further includes at least one output device. The control further includes a controller configured to: identify a first level of applied pressure sensed at the touch sensor, identify a scrolling action based on a detected change in locations of the touch input sensed at the touch sensor, identify a current scale of the scrolling action based on an identified first level of applied pressure, and control the at least one output device to provide an identified current scale and an identified scrolling action.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a mounting apparatus and a holster having a bracket with a D-stud with a radial pattern of detent pockets. The D-stud allows the bracket to rotate in a ratcheting manner in a first range of motion and freely rotate in a second range of motion. The free rotation of the second range of motion allows the D-stud to automatically recover from a vertical position to a non-vertical position.

A plurality of non-touch user interface features (118) are spaced apart side-by-side along the single elongated rounded rectangular shaped body of the non-touch user interface (116). The elongated aperture (114) with non-touch user interface (116) residing therein define a visible non-touch user interface zone (120) on the surface of the portable communication device for the protection of the non-touch user interface features (118).
