Abstract: A device and method for controlling load on a server is provided. A server comprises: memory storing information associated with user identifiers; a communication interface; and a controller. The controller is configured to: receive, using the communication interface, a user identifier; assign an available mobile device, of a plurality of shared mobile devices, to the user identifier, the available mobile device storing respective information associated with the user identifier; and control, via the communication interface, an output device to provide an indication of an assignment of the available mobile device.
