    摘要: A roller bearing with symmetric barrel shaped rollers comprising an inner race (13), an outer race (14) and rollers (11), each of which rollers have at least one rounded end, and being of the bearing type where rollers and race tracks have longitudinal section profiles with substantially the same radius of curvature, whereby the rollers during normal operating conditions are axially moveable between the race tracks without hindrance from axial confinements at the race tracks for allowing relative misalignment and axial displaceability of the race tracks, wherein the end drop zone has a length (d1) which is lower than 5% of the length (1a) of the roller, and which commences where the bend of the curvature of the roller in axial direction exceeds the normal curvature of the roller by 0.1°, and where the end drop of the roller is otherwise determined by the following relations, r/1a≧0.35 for &ggr; values up to 0.7°, and r/1a is ≧0.2 for &ggr; values between 0.7° and 1.4°.

    摘要: A bearing unit for a fluid machinery application having a double-row bearing, the double-row bearing comprising: a first angular self-aligning contact bearing arranged next to a second angular self-aligning contact bearing for locating and rotatably support a shaft; each angular self-aligning contact bearing having a respective set of rolling elements formed of rollers arranged in a row and interposed between an associated curved inner raceway and a curved outer raceway. Each roller is a symmetrical cylindrically shaped roller having a curved raceway-contacting surface engaging with the curved inner and outer raceways. Each roller is inclined in relation to the axial direction of the shaft by a respective first or second contact angle. The rollers are arranged to cooperate with the associated curved inner and raceways for supporting an axial force and a radial force. Examples of fluid machinery applications include: wind turbine, water turbine or propulsion turbine arrangements.

    摘要: A mounting device in the form of a substantially annular washer allows a bearing having relatively movable bearing rings to be blind mounted in a bearing seat in a housing or on a shaft. The washer is fitted to one of the bearing rings and abuts a side face of the other bearing ring to transfer an axial mounting force between the two bearing rings to mount one of the bearing rings in the bearing seat. The washer is tapering and assumes a first stable position to transfer axial force sufficient to push one of the bearing rings into its seat and an unstable region encountered after the one bearing ring has reached its mounted position. Under continued axial force, the washer flexes away from the side face of the other bearing ring to an inverted tapering, second stable position, with a passage between the bearing rings being opened.
