摘要： When a user inputs a URL character string indicating data for an order document, the CPU receives data for the order document indicated by the URL and reading method data from the web server at the URL destination and prints the order document on a recording unit. The user then fills in circles on the order document to indicate desired content and feeds the order document into the manual-feed paper tray on the facsimile device. At this time, the facsimile device reads a user number and data regarding printing details and scrapbook entry details and transmits order data described as a URL to the web server.

摘要： A communication system includes a printing unit, an image scanning unit, an accessing system connectable to a web page. The printing unit prints out the web page on a first recording medium. When the web page includes an input field and the data input in the input field is to be transmitted to a predetermined destination, the printing unit prints out an image having a fill-in area to be filled in by the user, and a destination area indicating the destination, on a second recording medium. The communication system includes a scan controller that controls the scanning unit to scan the second recording medium to capture an image thereof, a recognition system that recognizes contents written in the fill-in area and the destination area based on the scanned image, and a data transmitting system that transmits contents extracted from the fill-in area to the destination extracted from the destination area.

摘要： An information storage device, by which only information outputted in a state desired by a user can be stored and disclosed with minimum time and trouble of the user, is provided. After FAX transmission, the FAX image is displayed and an inquiry concerning whether to store the FAX image or not is conducted. When the user performs an operation designating registration of the FAX image in a database (i.e. when a registration command button is pressed by the user), the FAX image is registered in the database. When the user performs an operation designating discard of the FAX image (i.e. when a discard command button is pressed by the user), the FAX image is discarded. Since the user can decide whether or not to register the FAX image in the database after checking the image to be registered, registration of undesired image in the database can be prevented.

摘要： A communication device is connected with a wide area network (WAN) and a local area network (LAN) and includes a recording unit that performs predetermined processing in accordance with a request, that comes in through the WAN or the LAN. A controller of a communication module of the communication device determines whether a request came in through the WAN or the LAN. When the request comes in through the WAN, the controller demands an acceptance/rejection determination as to the performance of the request from a user of the communication device. When the performance of the requested operation is accepted, the controller performs the processing according to the request that came in through the WAN.
