Abstract:
A color selection and coordination website wherein selection of one of various different “room type” links generates a display comprising a scene of the room and a display beneath the scene of a row of color chips, each providing a “quick view” link, which when selected causes generation of (a) a display of an enlarged color chip having the color selected, (b) an adjacent room scene, and (c) a “view in a room” link located beneath the adjacent room scene. Selection of the “view in a room” link generates a display comprising an interior room scene and an exterior home scene, each painted with the color of the color chip and a row of five interior thumb images and five exterior thumb images, any one of which, when selected, will replace the originally displayed interior and exterior scenes.
Abstract:
A color selection and coordination system including a database of predetermined color relationships implementing a data-driven color model. A starting color is associated with a first color in the color database. One or more predefined color palettes associated with the first color may be retrieved, each palette including one or more coordinating colors, the coordinating colors being predetermined based on the first color and a color coordination algorithm.
Abstract:
A system embodied as a website including a first, second and third pluralities of display screens, the first enabling an at-home user to select a first color which coordinates with a second selected color, the second enabling the user to select for purchase one or more of a plurality of interior decorating-related items, and the third enabling the user to order and pay for one or more of (a) a paint sample of each of said first and second colors and (b) at least one of the interior decorating-related items. The order may be automatically transmitted to a fulfillment center for fulfillment and then delivered to the user.
Abstract:
An automated method and apparatus for providing color selection capability to a user wherein a first display is generated on a display apparatus of an array of color family groups disposed in a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns. Upon selection of a particular color family group, a second display is generated comprising an enlarged display of a particular selected color family group wherein, as the second display is generated, the array of color family groups of the first display dissolves while the particular selected color family group moves into a central enlarged position and a miniature version of the entire array of color family groups is displayed in a thumbnail navigation frame, located in a corner of the display screen. Various elements of a color family such as color stripe cards, color style cards, and sample chips may be selected and caused to appear via animation in a central enlarged position in the display.

Abstract:
A color selection and coordination system including a database of predetermined color relationships for providing one or more combinations of complementary colors for the desired starting color based on color theory and expert input. One implementation of the invention provides a kiosk with a display device, an input device, and a processing unit configured to receive a starting color via the input device, determine one or more complementary colors for the starting color, and provide one or more color combinations via the display device, each color combination including the starting color and one or more of the complementary colors.
Abstract:
An automated method and apparatus for providing color selection capability to a user wherein a first display is generated on a display apparatus of an array of color family groups disposed in a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns. Upon selection of a particular color family group, a second display is generated comprising an enlarged display of a particular selected color family group and a reduced size miniature version of the array of color family groups. A third display may further be generated in response to selection of a color chip on the second display during which generation a color chip selected on the second display is caused to appear in an enlarged form in the third display.
Abstract:
A distributed color selection and coordination system including a remote computer communicatively coupled to a server. The remote computer configured to select a starting color and access a database in the server to find one or more complementary colors. The colors in the database are arranged in a predetermined relationship with other colors in the database, the relationship between colors based on color theory. The remote computer is capable of storing personal information and color selections on the server. An in-store kiosk is communicatively coupled to the server and configured to execute color selection and coordination software. The in-store kiosk is further capable of retrieving stored personal information and color selections from the server which were previously stored from the remote computer.
Abstract:
A paint color selection website arranged to provide a plurality of home pages each comprising a featured project image, each project image employing a plurality of different colors, each color located in a respective region of the image with at least one “hot spot” located in one or more of the regions, each hot spot comprising an attention-drawing animation feature responsive to a first selection operation to cause display of at least one color name, the color name being that of the color of the region where the hot spot lies. The home pages further may include real-life simulating animation features while the system software is operable to select the relative frequency with which each home page appears in response, for example, to a user's successive home page selections. An animated color sheen selection tool is also provided.
