摘要:
Amorphous metal foams and methods of making the same are provided. The amorphous metal foams have properties matching those of natural bone, enabling their use as bone replacement scaffolds. In one embodiment, for example, an amorphous metal foam has a density-dependent stiffness (or Young's modulus, denoted E) ranging from about 640ρ3.75 τo αβouτ 2900ρ0.78, and a density dependent strength (σy) greater than about 8.1ρ2.57, wherein ρ (the density) is less than about 1.7 g/cc.
摘要:
Amorphous Fe-based metal foams and methods of preparing the same are provided. The Fe-based foams are prepared from Fe-based metal alloys of low hydrogen solubility having an atomic fraction of Fe greater than or equal to the atomic fraction of each other alloying element. A method for producing the Fe-based foams includes the in situ decomposition of a hydride in a molten Fe-based alloy.

Amorphous Fe- and Co-based metal foams and methods of preparing the same are provided. The Fe- and Co-based foams are prepared from Fe- and Co-based metal alloys of low hydrogen solubility having an atomic fraction of Fe or Co greater than or equal to the atomic fraction of each other alloying element. A method for producing the Fe- and Co-based foams includes the in situ decomposition of a hydride in a molten Fe- or Co-based alloy.
摘要:
A rotatable wafer chuck includes chuck arms and wafer holders that are aerodynamically shaped to reduce turbulence during rotation. A wafer holder may include a friction support and an independently rotatable vertical alignment member and clamping member that is shaped to reduce drag. The shape reduces turbulence during edge bevel etching to improve the uniformity of the edge exclusion and during high-speed rotation to improve particle performance.
