    Abstract: A dynamic footwear midsole has an upper layer and a lower layer that are connected by a group of heel slats and a group of forepart slats, each slat being connected at hinge regions to the upper and lower layers. The slats in each group are arranged in generally paralleling planes with the heel slats and forepart slats being arranged to cause one group to collapse as the other group expands. An arch segment is provided at the midportion of the upper layer is constructed and supported by an arch support structure that enables the upper layer and arch support structure to rock, as a unit, about a pivot region at the lower end of the support structure.

    Abstract: Bicycle wheels have integral reflective areas to increase visibility of the bicycle. These areas show through portions of the wheel tread, so that the tread protects the reflector material from wear. The reflecting areas are scattered over the wheel and situated at a variety of angles with respect to the plane of the wheel so that reflectors are always situated to reflect light from the sun, a street lamp, or car headlights. A bicycle tire of the conventional sort having a tube and removable outer tire having tread is used. The outer tire has holes formed in it interspersed among the raised areas of tread. Reflecting material in sheets is placed between the outer wheel and the tube. Preferably, the reflecting material is affixed to the outer tire, and is coated with a protective coating.

    Abstract: A tilt chair having a foot adapted to be supported by a support surface and a first leg pivotally mounted to the foot. A second leg is pivotally mounted to the first leg. A moveable support member is mounted to the second leg and is adapted to be supported by the support surface. The moveably support member is moveable in a first and second direction toward and away from the foot respectively as the first leg pivots relative to the second leg and as the first leg pivots relative to the foot. In one embodiment, the moveable support member is configured as a wheel. In one embodiment, a lower back member has a lower end pivotally mounted to the first leg and an upper back member pivotally mounted to an upper end of the lower back member. A restraining link is pivotally mounted between the lower back member and the second leg. An upper back link has a lower end pivotally mounted to the first leg and an upper end pivotally mounted to the upper back member. An actuator is operably connected to the first and second legs. A seat support is connected to the second leg, and one or both of an armrest and worksurface are mounted to the seat support. A method of tilting the chair is also provided and includes pivoting the second leg relative to the first leg and thereby rolling the wheel on the floor and pivoting the first leg relative to the foot.
