摘要: An apparatus that supports a user in a variety of positions to comfortably perform tasks, such as applying one or more tattoos to skin of a subject is herein disclosed. The apparatus can be reconfigured to optimally position and support the arms and/or chest of the user. A method for using a stool can involve rotating armrests of the apparatus from a stowed position to a deployed position. The armrests can support the user's forearms while supporting the user's chest such that the user can comfortably perform tasks in front of a chest support of the stool.

摘要: An active sitting chair is provided that encourages a sitter/user to sit actively by requiring balance adjustments and core engagement. The active sitting chair can be efficiently produced while being relatively sturdy and lightweight. The main body may be a monocoque shell that includes a rounded lower portion that contacts the surface the chair is on and promotes wobble of the chair when a sitter is seated on the chair. The chair may also include built-in handles for ease of lifting and a seat portion at the top of the chair that may include a cushion or similar component for increasing the stability and/or comfort of a sitter.

摘要: A yoga or exercise stool may have a seat portion and a base portion; the base portion having window slot(s) formed in a front side, a rear side, or both; a handle slot formed at least in one side, such as the front side, at or near the top; horizontal gripping slot(s) formed in the left side, the right side, or both, at or near the top; and vertical gripping slot(s) formed in the left side, the right side, or both, at or near the bottom; advantageously four such slots being formed near the bottom corners of the left and right sides. A yoga stool also may have a base portion, and a seat portion on top of the base portion, wherein the seat portion has an internal firm support member such as a solid slat, and preferably softer material such as foam rubber surrounding the support member, at least on the left and right sides. The yoga stool may include opposed side elements joined by a rear element and front element with a removable top element that may be U-Shaped to allow for additional poses or exercises.

摘要: Systems and methods for exerting forces on a body, including a support structure defining a space and a plurality of surface contacting units that are configured to exert force upon the body, such that the weight is distributed away from the primary weight bearing regions to non-weight bearing regions of the body, or vice versa, without exerting significant shear or frictional forces on surfaces of the body. The systems and methods may be used to exert forces to cause fluid shift in different compartments of the body. Applications include treatment of various disease conditions including pressure ulcers, heart failure, high blood pressure, preeclampsia, osteoporosis, injuries of spine and to slow microgravity-induced bone and muscle loss. The systems and methods may be used to simulate gravity, weightlessness or buoyancy, in rehabilitation medicine. The system may include a chair, bed, a wearable suit or an exoskeleton.

摘要: A method and a tilting device for exercising a spinal column of a seated user. The method may include activating a tilting device included in a controllable chair to provide at least one exercise scheme that includes two or more repeatable tilting movements of a seat of the controllable chair around at least two different axes, a number of repetitions for each tilting movement, speed and amplitude of each tilting movement and causing repeatable movements to the pelvis of the seated user as to stimulate movements of all the vertebrae throughout the spinal column of the seated user. The continuous repeatable seat movements may cause the user's spinal column to move between the body's natural vertical midline into a convex shape.

摘要: A seat assembly for task-oriented seating comprises a seat support and a seat coupled to the seat support. The seat is movable under load, such as from the user's weight and movements, relative to the seat support. The seat has a cushion molded over a supporting armature with multiple bias elements. The seat and seat support are configured to deflect by predetermined amounts at defined locations over an extent of the seat assembly. In this way, the seat assembly provides for a range of comfortable and effective positions for users engaged in different active motions and having different preferences and sizes.

摘要: In order to improve steering operation operability during cornering while maintaining a driver holding property, a seat apparatus is provided with: a seat back frame; a cornering sensor for detecting a cornering direction of a vehicle; and a control unit that controls the seat back frame on the basis of the result of detection by the cornering sensor. The seat back frame is provided with: left and right side frames disposed on both sides of the seat back frame; a back plate disposed between the left and right side frames; and a swinging mechanism for swinging the back plate with respect to the direction of movement of the vehicle. The control unit controls the swinging mechanism such that, upon detection of a cornering direction of the vehicle by the cornering sensor, the inner one of the sides of the back plate with respect to the cornering direction is positioned rearward of the outer one of the sides with respect to the cornering direction.

The upper frame post lower portions are linked together by the linking structure such that the upper frame posts form an inverted pyramid in the upper frame upright exercise position. The linking structure connects the upper frame to the lower frame such that the upper frame can pivot relative to the lower frame when the device is in its upright exercise position.
