Abstract: A flexible winding hose coupling apparatus is provided which allows for the rapid coupling of a flexible hose thereinto. The coupling can then be attached to another hose or to a pipe fitting or tap. The coupling has first and second coupling members with the first coupling member having a hollow tapered bore therein and the second coupling member loosely fitting or floating in the bore of the first coupling member. The first coupling member has an annular ledge formed in the bore to act as a stop for the second coupling member and has a plurality of annular barbs formed along the bore walls. The second coupling member is located in the first and has an external taper thereon with a plurality of external annular barbs therearound so that sliding a flexible hose over the second coupling member expands the end of the hose along the taper and over the barbs, driving the end of the hose towards the inside of the first coupling member bore walls. The enlarged hose seals when an internal hydraulic pressure is applied thereto or with a reverse pull on the hose, once the hose is pushed over the second coupling member, by the second coupling member and hose thereon sliding toward the tapered barbed internal wall of the first coupling.

Abstract: A fluid pressure regulator for adjusting the pressure of fluid passing through a pipe is provided for use with irrigation sprinklers or the like. The pressure regulator has a housing having a passageway therethrough, which has a throttling stem slidably mounted in the housing passageway and having a passageway therethrough. A compression spring is mounted between the throttling stem and the housing to bias the throttling stem relative to the housing. A throttling stem seat is attached in the passageway through the housing and has a passageway therethrough and has the end of a throttling member extending thereinto for adjusting the passageway through the throttling member seat so that fluid pressure is adjusted between the input and output of the fluid pressure regulator. A throttling stem dampening member or pressure controller is mounted in the passageway to dampen oscillations in the throttling stem by limiting access of fluid to an annular chamber formed by the pressure controller, upper housing, throttling stem and diaphragm, to thereby dampen variations in fluid pressure against one end of the throttling stem.

Abstract: A rotatable sprinkler head apparatus has a sprinkler body and a sprinkler swivel for attaching the sprinkler head to a source of water. A spindle rotates in the swivel and has a flange at one end thereof. A three washer stack has upper and lower sealing washers with the upper sealing washer isolated from the rotating spindle by the wear washer and mounted in a counterbore area in the swivel to isolate the upper washer from the rotating spindle and reduce wear on the spindle. Abstract: A rotatable sprinkler head apparatus has a sprinkler body and a sprinkler swivel having attaching means for attaching a rotatable sprinkler head apparatus to a source of water. The swivel has a bore therethrough. A spindle has a bore therethrough and is rotatably mounted through the sprinkler swivel bore and connected at one end to the sprinkler body and having a flange at the opposite end thereof. A washer stack has a plurality of washers thereon mounted around said spindle between said spindle flange and said swivel. The washer stack includes a wear washer having an annular generally external ledge for forming a generally L-shape cross section rotatable with the spindle in an annular generally stationary washer adjacent to the swivel and riding on the wear washer external ledge without touching the spindle so that spindle wear is reduced by the wear washer rotating relative to the generally stationary washer. The washer stack also includes a spindle washer positioned between the wear washer and the spindle flange which rotates with the spindle and the wear washer. The stationary washer as well as the spindle washer is made of an elastomeric material.
