摘要： In a driver golf head (1) comprising a face (4) having a hitting surface, a sole (3) forming a lower portion, and a crown (5) forming an upper portion, the sole (3) is improved. The sole (3) in the position close to the face (4) was formed into an elastically deformable recess-projection shape, and part of the face (4) was formed into a projecting shape and integrated with the sole (3) to increase rigidity. Using a configuration with increased rigidity and decreased rigidity between the face (4) and sole to obtain an elastically deformable portion and providing a high-rigidity body (12) increased the repulsion force in the lower portion of the face and extended the traveling distance of the golf ball.

摘要： A golf club provides carry which does not deteriorate even when a golf ball is struck in a lower position on a face portion. The golf club includes a face portion 4 having a hitting surface, an improved sole portion 3 which forms a lower portion, and a crown portion 5 which forms an upper portion. A deformation portion B which is capable of elastic deformation is provided in concavoconvex form on the sole portion 3 in a position near the face portion 4. This deformation portion B is constituted by a protrusion 10 which is formed such that the sole portion 3 forms an obtuse angle α, and a concave groove 11 which is formed in a direction linking a toe portion and a heel portion by a protrusion protruding towards the crown portion 5.

摘要： A golf club whose ball-striking portion realizes an improved repulsive force against balls and improved durability of as face member against repeated strikes of balls. The face member 16 is made up of a plurality of metallic plates 20, 21 which are superimposed over an entire surface thereof. Each of the metallic plates has an outer peripheral edge extended rearwardly to form an extended portion 22. The extended portion 22 has a rear end portion 23 joined to a body member 17 and a crown member 18 which construct a rear part of the head 1. A repulsive force of the ball-striking portion against balls can be improved by making the metallic plates 20, 21 thinner and more flexible. The durability of the face member 16 can be improved by transmitting the impacts caused by the repeated strikes of balls to the body member 17 and the crown member 18.

摘要： A golf club which comprises a head which is less deformable by the heat in welding. Separate reinforcing members 12 and 13 are provided on inner surface of a front edge 8A of a crown shell 8. Thus, the front edge 8A side is thickened and then the upper edge 4A of the face shell 4 is joined to the front edge 8A of the crown shell 8, by welding. The front edge 8A of the crown shell 8 is formed with a plurality of projections 11 which are anchored by the upper edge 4A of the face shell 4. The front edge 8A of the crown shell 8 is thickened by adding the thickness of the reinforcing members 12,13 to the thickness of crown shell 8 itself. Thus, thermal deformation and the sinking of the front edge 8A at the time of welding can be prevented, thus enabling the upper edge 4A to be joined to the front edge 8A as designed.

摘要： A method for manufacturing a golf club with an improved durability which realizes so thin a club head that the head can be enlarged, suppressing the increase of the total weight. A cold rolled material, which is a beta type titanium alloy in a beta single phase and subjected to direct aging, is used for the head. Preferably, the material is subjected to at least 15% cold rolling reduction. The aging is able to improve durability and surface hardness. Due to the direct aging of the cold worked material without solution treatment, such a long time heat treatment is no longer necessary, thereby resulting in the reduction of production costs.
