The disclosed camera power control devices operate with a camera in which a first switch responds to initial movement of a shutter release member, and a second switch responds to further movement of the release member. In the power control device, turning the first switch on energizes the light metering and display circuits, and turning on the second switch supplies an exposure control circuit such as a shutter control circuit with electrical energy. The power control device is provided with an electrical timer circuit, and a selection arrangement operates to selectively actuate the timer circuit when the release member is returned to its rest position and the first switch changes is state from ON to OFF. During a period of time determined by the timer circuit, power continues to be supplied to operate the light metering and display circuits.

A second timing arrangement forms a compensation time interval. Suitable means maintain the opening of the shutter for a total time equal to the given time interval and the compensation time interval so that the shutter is open for the desired exposure time. A control shortens the given time interval formed by the first timing arrangement by a predetermined time interval so that the given time interval formed is shorter than the desired exposure time. This permits compensation not only for errors which tend to shorten the exposure time, but also those which tend to lengthen the exposure time.

The present invention relates to a shutter time control circuit for a camera having a focal plane shutter and a timer circuit for counting the shutter time in a digital way. In accordance with the present invention a preset means for presetting the amount of the overlapping of the shutter curtain and/or the response delay of the magnet on the timer circuit as digital values is provided in such a manner that the clock time is compensated in accordance with the preset digital value so as to compensate the exposure error due to the overlapping amount of the shutter curtains and so on, which makes it possible to offer a digital exposure compensation device suited for the camera having a shutter control circuit for digitally controlling the shutter time.

An exposure time control device includes electromagnets for causing corresponding leading and trailing shutter curtains in a camera to travel. A second timer circuit, which is adjustable, is arranged to count a correction time in response to operation of a first timer circuit which counts an exposure time for the camera. After the lapse of the correction count time of the second timer circuit, the electromagnet for the leading shutter curtain is actuated, and then the electromagnet for the trailing shutter curtain is actuated after the lapse of the exposure count time of the first timer circuit. Exposure time errors which would otherwise result from overlapping of the shutter curtains and response delay of the trailing shutter curtain electromagnet, thus can be corrected by adjustment of the second timer circuit.

In this method, when the flowing process is executed by shifting some or all of the pixels constituting a still image of one image plane in a predetermined direction, if no image information to be shifted exists at the first image position, the image information from elsewhere in the image plane is shifted to the second image position. The image information at the second image position is obtained by shifting the image information in the image plane in the direction opposite to the principal shifting direction.
