The access credential has a lifespan. The processing circuit is further configured to deliver the access credential to a user device associated with the user to facilitate accessing the locking device with the user device, monitor a frequency at which the user device accesses the locking device using the access credential, and adjust the lifespan of the access credential based on the frequency.
