    摘要: The present invention enables the formation of droplets due to capillary stream break-up and minimizes variation in droplet formation time by applying a transverse disturbance to initiate instability on the capillary stream's surface. In one embodiment, a side-shaker apparatus comprises a reservoir adapted to hold molten metal, an orifice plate having an orifice in fluid communication with the reservoir, and a transverse disturbance generating member coupled to the orifice plate. The molten metal in the reservoir is ejected from the orifice to form a capillary stream. Due to capillary stream break-up, droplets pinch off from the capillary stream to form a droplet stream. The transverse disturbance generating member vibrates the orifice plate laterally (i.e., side to side) to apply a transverse disturbance to the capillary stream.

    摘要: An earphone has a body housing a transducer that is capable of generating an acoustic signal and directing the acoustic signal to an outlet in the body, the body being positionable in, on, or near an ear of user so that the acoustic signal can be directed into the ear canal of the user. The earphone also has an ear coupling mechanism comprising a sealing mechanism with a sealing member that is adapted to contact a portion of the ear of the user to at least partially create a seal between the ear canal and the external environment and a venting mechanism capable of venting air between the ear canal and the external environment, the venting mechanism comprising an air conduit that is adapted to communicate on one end with the ear canal and at another end with the external environment so that air can flow through the conduit to equalize a pressure differential across the sealing mechanism. The air conduit is sized and shaped so as to provide an improved audio performance over an earphone without the air conduit.

    摘要: A chain tension sensor for a chain conveyor, the conveyor including a frame and a chain having a plurality of flights. The tension sensor includes a reaction arm and a load sensing pin. The reaction arm includes a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a load pad. The first end is pivotably coupled to the frame by a pivot pin defining a pivot axis. The load pad is adjacent the conveyor chain and positioned to contact flights passing the load pad. The flights contacting the load pad exert a force on the reaction in a direction that is perpendicular to the pivot axis. The load sensing pin is coupled to the reaction arm such that the load sensing pin senses the force that is exerted by the flights.
