摘要: Systems and methods for personal identification, preferably based on iris identification, include a camera for acquiring a presented image of a presented individual and a computer device for converting the presented image into a presented image metric. The computer device also compares the presented image metric to a predetermined arrangement of a plurality of reference image metrics of known individuals to identify the presented individual as one of the known individuals. The presented image metric and the plurality of reference metrics are both formatted to represent detailed physical characteristics of the individuals, including iris characteristics and other physical characteristics. Further, the plurality of reference image metrics may also be formatted to represent user-defined characteristics, which include non-image-related characteristics. The predetermined arrangement of the plurality of reference image metrics are ordered to provide a fast match with the presented image metric. As such, the predetermined arrangement may be based on iris characteristics, other physical characteristics and user-defined characteristics. Alternately, the system of the present invention may include a carousel system that presents a circulating, predetermined arrangement of a series of reference image metrics that are compared with a plurality of presented image metrics in parallel. Thus, the systems and methods provide a fast match determination between the presented image metric and the plurality of reference image metrics in order to identify the presented individual.

摘要: An improved touch screen encryption device and method is disclosed. The user selects information from prompts displayed on a touch screen. The improved device determines the input information based upon the location of the touch. The device encrypts the information--for example, the user's personal identification number--and sends the encrypted information to a remote processor. The device and method may be used by a financial institution (such as a bank), a postal services institution or wherever sensitive information is input through a touch screen.

摘要: A system and method for verifying the identification of a user and securely establishing an encryption key for a communication between the user and a verifying entity, such as a bank, which makes use of the numeric value of the user's personal identification number (PIN) known only to the user and the bank and resolves the man-in-the-middle problem. The system and method replaces a public parameter with the customer's PIN to provide an encryption mechanism that is less complex than existing protocols. Use of the protocol enables new products and improvement of existing products using a service access device and service access device interface, including, for example, self-service terminals.

摘要: An automatic bank teller machine (ATM) that uses a combination of simple visual cues, large-type visual displays, audio, and a touch-sensitive display screen to facilitate use of the ATM by the blind and visually impaired, while still being useful for the sighted. In particular, the ATM uses a touch-sensitive display screen that has a fixed, easy to locate touch scanning zone. The display screen operates by contacting the screen, with a fingertip, for example, and slidingly moving to a location on the touch scanning zone corresponding to an item to be input, such as one of the numbers 0 to 9, for example.
