Abstract: An example method for securing a wearable device to a user occurs while the wearable device is worn around a body part. The wearable device includes a biopotential-signal sensor connected to an amplifier to adjust amplification of biopotential signal. The method includes receiving first information representative of power needed to amplify the biopotential signal to the particular amplitude for signal processing. The method also includes, in accordance with a determination that the first information indicates that the wearable device is not properly affixed to the body part, providing first instructions to adjust how the wearable device is affixed to the body part. The method includes receiving second information, and, in accordance with a determination that the second information indicates that the wearable device is properly affixed to the body part, forgoing providing second instructions to adjust how the wearable device is affixed to the body part.

Abstract: The various implementations described herein include methods and systems for providing a force dimension to interface elements. In one aspect, a method includes (i) communicatively coupling a wearable device that includes electromyography (EMG) sensors with an activatable device that includes a mechanical user interface element; (ii) in accordance with an activation of the user interface element, obtaining data from the EMG sensors that corresponds to the activation; (iii) determining, based on the data from the EMG sensors, whether the activation includes an activation force that meets predefined criteria; (iv) in accordance with a determination that the activation force meets the predefined criteria, causing execution of a first function corresponding to the user interface element; and (v) in accordance with a determination that the activation force meets the predefined criteria, causing execution of a second function corresponding to the user interface element.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for using such signals detected by neuromuscular-signal sensors of a wearable electronic device when a user is performing an activity. Methods are described for adaptively adjusting a rate of physical activity performed by a user while the user is wearing the wearable electronic device. An example method includes operations for using one or more sensors located at a wearable electronic device in conjunction with detecting that the user is performing a physical activity at a particular activity rate: (i) detecting, using a neuromuscular-signal sensor located at the wearable electronic device, a level of exertion of the user, and (ii) based on a determination that the level of exertion is different than a baseline level of exertion by at least a threshold amount, determining an adjustment to the particular activity rate while the user is performing the physical activity.

Abstract: The various implementations described herein include methods and systems for power-efficient processing of neuromuscular signals. In one aspect, a method includes: (i) obtaining a first set of neuromuscular signals; (ii) after determining, using a low-power detector, that the first set of neuromuscular signals require further processing to confirm that a predetermined in-air hand gesture has been performed: (a) processing the first set of neuromuscular signals using a high-power detector; and (b) in accordance with a determination that the processing indicates that the predetermined in-air hand gesture did occur, registering an occurrence of the predetermined in-air hand gesture; (iii) receiving a second set of neuromuscular signals; and (iv) after determining, using the low-power detector and not using the high-power detector, that a different predetermined in-air hand gesture was performed, performing an action in response to the different predetermined in-air hand gesture.

Abstract: Systems and methods for transitioning a call between two devices are disclosed herein. An origin device for the call is determined based on a first position of an ultra-wideband (UWB) device. A destination device for the call is then determined based on a second position of the UWB device. The UWB device sends transition commands to both the origin device and the destination device, each transition command including an identifier of the other device. Using the identifier of the origin device, the destination device connects to the call the origin device is currently participating in. When the origin device detects that the destination device has connected to the call, the origin device disconnects from the call.
