摘要： A straddle mount connector is provided for edge mounting to a circuit board of a pluggable module. The straddle mount connector includes a dielectric connector body having a base and a plug extending from the base. The base is configured to be coupled to an edge of the circuit board. The plug has opposite first and second sides and a plate cavity that extends within the plug between the first and second sides. The plug is configured to be received within a receptacle of a receptacle connector. Electrical contacts are held by the connector body. The electrical contacts include mating segments. The mating segments of a first group of the electrical contacts are arranged in a first row that extends a length along the first side of the plug. The mating segments of a second group of the electrical contacts are arranged in a second row that extends a length along the second side of the plug. A ground plate is held within the plate cavity of the plug of the connector body. The ground plate extends between the first and second rows of electrical contacts along the lengths of the first and second rows.

摘要： A receptacle connector includes a dielectric connector body having a receptacle configured to receive a mating connector therein. Signal and ground contacts are held by the connector body. The signal and ground contacts include mating segments that are arranged within the receptacle of the connector body in a row that extends a length along a row axis. The mating segments of the signal and ground contacts include mating interfaces that extend within the receptacle for mating with corresponding mating contacts of the mating connector. A ground shield extends within the receptacle. The ground shield overlaps the mating segments of the signal and ground contacts within the receptacle along the length of the row of the mating segments.

摘要： An electrical connector assembly includes a cage having a front end and an internal compartment. The front end is open to the internal compartment of the cage. The internal compartment is configured to receive a pluggable module therein through the front end. An electromagnetic interference (EMI) gasket is mounted to the front end of the cage such that the EMI gasket is engaged with an electrically connected to the cage. The EMI gasket includes electrically conductive springs that are configured to engage and electrically connect to the pluggable module when the pluggable module is received within the internal compartment of the cage. The EMI gasket including a flange. A bracket is mounted to the front end of the cage such that the bracket extends at least partially around the EMI gasket. The bracket having a wall that is engaged with the flange of the EMI gasket for holding the EMI gasket on the front end of the cage.

The internal compartment is configured to receive the pluggable module therein through the front end. The cage includes an alignment spring extending into the internal compartment. An electrical connector is positioned within the internal compartment of the cage. The electrical connector is configured to mate with the pluggable module to electrically connect the electrical connector to the pluggable module. The alignment spring of the cage is configured to engage the pluggable module as the pluggable module is received within the internal compartment of the cage such that the alignment spring biases the pluggable module in an alignment direction as the pluggable module is received within the internal compartment.

摘要： An electrical connector is provided having a connector housing with signal modules and grounding members therein. Each of the signal modules has a ground plane on at least one side of each of the signal modules. The ground planes have contact pads formed at opposite ends thereof proximate mating ends of the signal modules. The grounding members interconnect the ground planes on the sides of adjacent signal modules to one another at a point along one of the ground planes and the contact pads. Optionally, the signal modules may include vias having conductive liners therethrough that electrically connect ground planes from opposite sides of a signal module to one another. Alternatively, the signal modules can be printed circuit boards. The signal modules may be arranged parallel to one another within the housing.
