摘要: A hanger for attaching a length of a transmission line, such as, a coaxial cable or a waveguide to a supporting structure, such as, a crossbar on an antenna tower, includes two gripping elements. The elements have posts and openings to facilitate aligning of them with respect to each other. The posts and openings are arranged so that the posts in one element fit into the openings of the other element to help align the two elements when they are placed around a transmission line. Once aligned, the two elements are brought toward each other until they snap together to form a clamping structure which loosely grips the transmission line. The clamping structure can then be slid to the desired location on the transmission line. A bolt or a screw is then inserted through the aligned bolt or screw openings in the two elements and through the supporting structure. Finally, the bolt or screw is tightened to securely clamp the elements to the transmission line and to attach the resulting hanger to the supporting structure.

摘要: The invention relates to a low loss foam composition and cable, such as a coaxial cable. The foam composition is formed by heating an olefinic polymer, such as a high density polyethylene, medium density polyethylene, low density polyethylene, linear low density polyethylene, polypropylene, or a combination thereof, into a molten state composition, optionally with a nucleating agent. The molten mixture is extruded under pressure through a die with a blowing agent comprising an atmospheric gas, such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen or air, and a co-blowing agent selected from hydrofluorocarbons, hydrochlorofluorocarbons, or perfluoro compounds, such as HFC-134a. The cable is formed by extruding the foam composition onto a signal carrying conductor and sheathing the foam-coated signal carrying conductor in an appropriate conducting shield.

摘要: A corrugated coaxial cable including a core with at least one inner conductor and a highly expanded polymeric foam dielectric surrounding the inner conductor. This coaxial cable has a corrugated outer conductor closely encapsulating the foam dielectric. The corrugated coax cable is dimensioned to provide the cable with a velocity of propagation of greater than 90% of the speed of light.

摘要: A radiating cable of the foam dielectric type is provided with increased flame-retardant capabilities by provision of an inert barrier tape between an apertured, corrugated outer conductor and the external jacket surrounding the conductor. The barrier tape is composed of non-halogenated, self-extinguishing insulating material and is wrapped over the outer conductor in such a way as to completely cover the radiating apertures disposed thereupon. The barrier tape prevents the melting and bubbling of the dielectric foam outwardly through the radiating slots into penetrating contact with the external jacket when the cable is subjected to high-intensity flames, without significantly affecting the transmission characteristics of the cable.
