摘要: A method for detects a specific object in an image. An orientation of an arbitrary object with respect to an image plane is determined and one of a plurality orientation and object specific classifiers is selected according to the orientation. The arbitrary object is classified as a specific object with the selected orientation and object specific classifier.

摘要: A method detects an object, such a face, in an image. The image is first partitioned into patches of various sizes using either an integral image or a Gaussian pyramid. Features in each patch are evaluated to determine a cumulative score. The evaluating is repeated while the cumulative score is within a range of an acceptance threshold and a rejection threshold, and otherwise the image is rejected when the accumulated score is less than the rejection threshold and accepted as including the object when the cumulative score is greater than the acceptance threshold.

摘要: A method detects a moving object in a temporal sequence of images. Images are selected from the temporally ordered sequence of images. A set of functions is applied to the selected images to generate a set of combined images. A linear combination of filters is applied to a detection window in the set of combined images to determine motion and appearance features of the detection window. The motion and appearance features are summed to determine a cumulative score, which enables a classification of the detection window as including the moving object.

摘要: A method recognizes an object in an image. Gallery images include identified objects, and a probe image includes an unidentified object. The probe image is paired with each gallery image to generate pairs of images. First filters are applied to the probe image of each pair to obtain a first feature value for each application of each filter. Second filters are applied to the each gallery image of each pair to obtain a second feature value for each application of each filter. The feature values are summed for each application of each filter, and for each application, a score is set to an acceptance weight if the sum is greater than a predetermined threshold, and otherwise setting the score to a rejection weight. The scores are summed for all of the application, and the probe image is identified with any gallery image when the score is greater than zero.

摘要: A pictorial tour process acquires material for producing pictorial tours from given amusement venues and then publishes those pictorial tours on an Internet website so the web users can get a “you are there” perspective of the given amusement venue. In particular as applied to the game of golf, a golf website presents pictorial tours of various golf courses by means of shot-by-shot teachings from a player's perspective of the recommended play of a given hole. Such a shot-by-shot teaching tour entertains, teaches as well as allows a web user to judge whether the given course is attractive or suitable to that user. The web users get to see not just the beauty and skill-challenge of the course, but also check such factors as whether the course will adversely challenge to their health if they have conditions of, eg., weak heart or impaired walking mobility, or otherwise cause discomfort because of eg., desert heat or mountain coolness, and so on. Some course allow carts, others don't. Thus a hilly course up on a cool plateau is not likely appealing to someone who might be stricken by such things. Accordingly, that sort of “someone” ought to forego the course even if the beauty and skill-challenge aspects are otherwise appealing.

摘要: A two piece sealing system for a universal joint assembly. A lubricant seal adapted to prevent the leakage of lubricant between the trunnion and bearing cup of a universal joint wherein the trunnion has a cylindrical portion merging into an outwardly flaring arcuate base portion, the seal including an elastomer body bonded to the interior of a stiffening ring. The body of the seal has two lips that extend from a thin section as two symmetrical cantilever protrusions each having a fully radiused tip, the line of symmetry for the symmetrical lips running from a point near the intersection of the trunnion diameter and the trunnion arcuate radius toward the center of the trunnion arcuate radius, the thin section above the two cantilevered protrusions allowing both lips of the seal to pivot about the line of symmetry, one of the lips contacting the journal trunnion diameter and being directed toward the interior of the bearing cup to maintain the level of the bearing lubricant, the other lip contacting the trunnion arcuate radius and is directed away from the interior of the bearing cup to deny the entrance of environmental contaminants, the combination of the thin section and the symmetric lips allowing the interference points of the seal to float. The outer boot seal formed between the bearing cap and the outer cylindrical friction surface of an associated trunnion includes an outer seal of elastomeric material having a tubular portion and an inwardly extending annular portion at one end. The tubular portion has structure for maintaining contact with the outside diameter of the bearing cup and the inwardly extending annular portion has a stiffening ring molded into the elastomer to provide the required strength and stiffness to retain the outer boot seal on the outer cylindrical surface of the trunnion by way of a press fit.

摘要: A method for detecting an object in a depth image includes determining a detection window covering a region in the depth image, wherein a location of the detection window is based on a location of a candidate pixel in the depth image, wherein a size of the detection window is based on a depth value of the candidate pixel and a size of the object. A foreground region in the detection window is segmented based on the depth value of the candidate pixel and the size of the object. A feature vector is determined based on depth values of the pixels in the foreground region and the feature vector is classified to detect the object.

摘要: An image of an object from a known object class is synthesized by first obtaining reflectance fields for various training objects from the object class. A reflectance field model is defined for the object class using a combination of the reflectance fields of the training objects. The parameters of the reflectance field model are optimized to estimate a particular reflectance field of a particular object from the object class given one or more input images of the particular object. The particular reflectance field is fitted to the particular object, and then the new image of the particular object is synthesized by changing the illumination parameters of the particular fitted reflectance field model after the fitting.

摘要: A method of printing a plurality of documents includes generating a page file for each page of each document, generating a control file for each page file, and operating a number of printers to generate printed pages based on the page files. The method includes scanning the printed pages to generate a scan file for each page, and identifying the corresponding control file to permit the printed pages to be segregated into properly sequenced separate documents.
