    摘要: A bagless vacuum cleaner (10) includes a nozzle assembly (16) having a suction nozzle for picking up dirt and debris from a surface to be cleaned and a canister assembly (18) including a cavity (32). A dust collection assembly (12) is received and held in that cavity (32). The dust collection assembly (12) includes a filtering subassembly (100) and a dust container (102). The dust container (102) has an open top (104), a bottom wall (106), a first cylindrical sidewall (108), an inlet (110), and a downwardly directed outlet (112) extending through the bottom wall. An airstream conduit is provided for conveying a vacuum airstream between the suction nozzle and the inlet. A filter (124, 138) is carried on the filtering subassembly (100). A sweeper (200) rotates relative to the filtering subassembly (100) to clean dirt and debris from at least a portion of the filter (138). A suction fan (34) and suction fan drive motor (35) carried on either the nozzle assembly (16) or the canister assembly (18) generates the vacuum airstream for drawing dirt and debris through the suction nozzle, the airstream conduit and the dust container (102).

    摘要: An extractor is provided for cleaning carpet or a like surface or material. The extractor includes a housing, a handle, a cleaning liquid delivery system and a cleaning liquid recovery system. The cleaning liquid delivery system includes a cleaning liquid supply tank, first and second aligned agitators preferably in the form of brushes and a gravity feed or pump for delivering cleaning liquid from the supply tank for cleaning. The cleaning liquid recovery system includes a recovery nozzle, a vacuum generator and a dirty cleaning liquid recovery tank. The extractor is further characterized by a manifold for receiving cleaning liquid from the pump and directing the cleaning liquid into a nip defined between the first and second agitators. A drive assembly counterrotates the agitators so that relative rotation of the agitators in the nip is generally away from the manifold and toward the carpet to be cleaned. In accordance with the method of the present invention, cleaning liquid is delivered into the nip defined between the pair of counterrotating agitators. The cleaning liquid is thereby propelled by the counterrotating agitators through the nip deep into the carpet to be cleaned. This is followed by the recovering of the cleaning liquid.

    摘要: A compact and shallow rinse agent dispenser is removably assembled upon the top of an agitator in an automatic clothes washing machine for dispensing a liquid product upon completion of a spin cycle of the washing machine. An annular, wave dampening baffle is fixed inwardly adjacent the rim of a receptacle cup in which the liquid product is initially placed. The baffle is vertically slotted and limits splashing of the liquid into a dispensing chamber or through filling ports in the cover of the dispenser during the agitation cycle, prior to spin. The discharge chamber to which liquid is passed during the spin cycle has a number of impeller vanes fitted adjacent radially-inwardly-disposed discharge openings therein to minimize loss of liquid during start-up stages of the spin cycle, when centrifugal forces alone are insufficient to confine the liquid to the outside of the chamber.
