    摘要: Machine motion is directed using a graphical interface by establishing an icon in an image, displaying the icon in images having perspectives such that the icon is rendered in a corresponding relative position in the second images and moving the icons in the second images when the icon is moved in the first image, the movement being constrained along a line projected from a camera point associated with the first image and a target destination. Actions are defined using the icon and a set of action descriptors. The dominant motion space is constrained to a spherical coordinate frame centered on a vision locus and machine motions are mapped to coincide therewith based on a graphical interface view.

    摘要: Improved silicate drilling fluids are produced by the addition of tetra alkyl ammonium compounds, in particular tetra methyl ammonium hydroxide to silicate drilling fluid mud to lower the co-efficient of friction between drill string and wellbore. It has also been discovered that the same tetra alkyl ammonium lubricant compounds greatly lessen the viscosity breakdown of swelled hectorite clay in the presence of silicate. This allows the preparation of silicate drilling fluids not only with enhanced lubricity but having stable rheology at the higher temperature and pressures encountered in some drilling operations.

    摘要: An improved drilling and completion fluid can be used in subterranean drilling for oil and gas. Sodium silicate and potassium silicate-based drilling fluids are commonly used drilling fluids with the notable attributes of exceptional shale stabilization characteristics coupled with exceptional environmental performance Environmental and wellbore stabilization characteristics are improved by using high ratio aqueous silicates wherein ratio is defined as the molar ratio of SiO2:Me2O, where Me is an alkali and is most commonly sodium or potassium (i.e. Na2O and K2O). For high ratio aqueous alkali silicates, the molar ratio of SiO2:Me2O can range from just over 4.0 to about 12.0.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method for ameliorating the salinity of drilling waste that is generated over the course of drilling for oil & gas using water-based drilling fluid. In particular for drilling waste that is generated when using a potassium silicate-based drilling fluid. Salinity is a common problem since salt-based additives are commonly added to drilling fluids to obtain certain desirable properties such as shale inhibition. Potassium salts represents a commonly used drilling fluid additive to inhibit the swelling and dispersion of shale. Salinity in the drilling fluid can further increase as a result of drilling fluid contact with the geological formations being drilled.
