摘要： An improved multi-purpose kickstand assembly 100 has a modular kickstand mechanism 134 to securely support an electronic communications device 102 in a landscape mode and/or portrait mode. One or more sensors in the electronic communications device can detect the position of a kickstand-magnet 156 secured to the kickstand 136 to electronically determine the position of the kickstand. The kickstand can serve as a channel 170 for a speaker port 166 and/or speaker 168 and can enhance antennae performance for improved audio quality.

摘要： A submersible electrical connector assembly (300) includes an electrical connector (301) mounted to a first substrate (309) where a second substrate (311) adjoins the first substrate (309). The second substrate (311) is comprised of a pliable material that acts as a seal. The first substrate and second substrate are positioned within a compartmentalized area of an electrical device housing for preventing water or other fluid from entering an aperture within the housing. Although water may inadvertently enter the electrical connector (301), the connector assembly (300) is substantially submersible since water is prevented from entering the housing (400) as used for an electronic device.

摘要： A keypad assembly (100) for a communication device (200) utilizes two boards, a main circuit board (102) with electronic components including light emitting diodes (LEDs) (104) and a keypad board (108). A lightguide (106) is sandwiched between the two boards (102, 108), the lightguide having window protrusions (112) to accommodate the LEDs (104). The keypad board (108) has openings (116) within which the window protrusions (112) align in order to provide backlighting and sealing to the communication device (200).
