    摘要: A method for selecting a subset of sites within a set of candidate sites for activating one or more radio stations of a telecommunications network includes building an initial solution of a subset of sites starting from a network configuration having the whole set of active candidate sites; and optimising the initial solution for activating “inactive” sites and/or deactivating “active” sites, in order to minimise a predetermined cost function for the solution. The steps of building and optimising the initial solution are adapted to define both solutions that have a geographic coverage area that is greater than a predefined minimum coverage area and to manage an amount of traffic that is greater than a predefined minimum expected traffic value. A processing system and a processing program or group of programs can be executed by the system when pre-arranged for performing the above method.

    摘要: A communications network includes a set of user terminals to which communication services are provided by means of a set of service areas identified by cells with respective associated cell serving stations, each serving station having certain output transmission power and service capacity values. The cells are divided into pixels and the user terminals communicate within the cells on respective uplinks and downlinks. The services have respective service quality levels associated on the uplinks and downlinks, while the serving stations have respective power limits related to the maximum power that can be delivered by the radio station globally toward all served terminals and to the power that can be delivered for every individual connection toward an individual terminal. The network under examination is planned by determining each of the service areas as joint uplink/downlink service area composed of the set of pixels in which the respective service is guaranteed by complying with the associated quality requirements on both links (uplinks and downlinks) and verifying the compliance with the above limits on the maximum power that can be delivered by the radio station both globally toward all served terminals and by individual connection toward an individual terminal.

    摘要: A method for planning cellular mobile telecommunications network including at least one network cell and intended to provide network services to user equipment located in the network cell, wherein the network services include at least one network service deliverable at a plurality of provisioning rates, including evaluating an uplink coverage of the network in a predetermined service area. The evaluation of the uplink coverage includes: a) forecasting a number of user equipment located in the service area; b) setting a current provisioning rate to the highest of provisioning rates; c) estimating a power required for each user equipment for accessing the at least one network service in the service area at the current provisioning rate; and d) comparing the estimated required power to a maximum power deliverable by each user equipment. If the estimated required power exceeds the maximum deliverable power: e) determining a reduced service area wherein the estimated power required to each user equipment of a reduced number of user equipment located therein for accessing the at least one network service at the current provisioning rate does not exceed the maximum deliverable power; f) updating the current provisioning rate to the immediately lower provisioning rate of the plurality; and g) repeating steps c) and d) and, if required, steps e) and f).

    摘要: A method of assigning scrambling codes to cells of a CDMA cellular mobile communications network includes assigning to each cell of a set of cells of a network area a cell attribute adapted to identify a cell typology, and, for each cell, assigning a respective primary scrambling code according to the cell typology, exploiting said cell attribute. The cell attribute includes a first attribute value adapted to identify a cell in which a complexity of computation to be performed by the user equipment for determining the cell primary scrambling code is to be minimized, and a second attribute value adapted to identify a cell in which a synchronization time of mobile communications user equipment is to be minimized. If the cell has an attribute value equal to said first attribute, the cell is assigned a primary scrambling code different from the primary scrambling codes assigned to neighboring cells. If the cell has an attribute value equal to said second attribute, the cell is assigned a primary scrambling code not belonging to a code group to which a primary scrambling code assigned to a neighboring cell belongs.
