Abstract: An image forming apparatus of the invention includes a radio communication unit that is capable of performing radio communication with an external terminal apparatus and a control unit that controls the radio communication unit. Abstract: An image forming apparatus according to the invention has a system control unit provided in a body unit having an image forming unit. The system control unit controls the image forming unit and outputs a power off command to the body unit including the system control unit itself if it is determined that a preset power-saving mode transition condition is met. The image forming apparatus has an authentication data reading device which receives supply of power from a power supply path that is different from a power supply path to the body unit, reads authentication data from an authentication medium, and holds the read data. Abstract: An image forming apparatus, method and program having a help function allow a user to obtain help information after first checking what help information is available at a host computer. In the image-forming apparatus 100, a first CPU 16 which serves as the controller in a printer/scanner section 10 accesses, via an external interface 20, an information source connected to a network NW, and has a list of help information displayed.
