    摘要: A pointing device includes a resilient substrate having flat upper and lower surfaces, a plurality of strain gages integrally formed on at least one of the upper and lower surfaces of the substrate, and a stick having a base connected to a central portion on the upper surface of the substrate, and a tip end opposite the base and displaceable in an arbitrary direction. The stick extends perpendicularly to the upper surface of the substrate. A displacement direction and a displacement quantity of the tip end of the stick are detectable from outputs of the strain gages.

    摘要: A sensor unit includes a support body having a concave surface, a spherical body formed of a magnetic material and placed on the concave surface of the support body so as to roll freely thereon, a permanent magnet producing a magnetic field affecting the magnetic spherical body, and a magnetic sensor detecting a change in the magnetic field caused by the movement of said magnetic spherical body. The magnetic spherical body and the permanent magnet are provided to oppose each other with a given distance therebetween in a vertical direction. The magnetic sensor is provided between the magnetic spherical body and the permanent magnet. An output is produced in accordance with the detection by the magnetic sensor.

    摘要: A three-dimensional coordinate input device includes an operation portion, a ferrite magnet provided within the operation portion, two pairs of Hall-effect elements provided on a substrate. One pair of the Hall-effect elements is used for detecting an X coordinate and the other pair of the Hall-effect elements is used for detecting a Y coordinate. When inclined and vertically moved by hand, the operation portion can be displaced in three-dimension. When the operation portion is inclined in any direction, an XY coordinate value can be obtained based on its inclination and inputted into a computer to be displayed on a coordinate space. By using a mean of output voltages of the Hall-effect elements, a Z coordinate value can be obtained and displayed on the coordinate space.

The magnet and the plurality of magnetoelectric transducers are fixedly mounted on an upper surface of the printed circuit board opposite the magnetic plate, the magnet is disposed so that one pole faces the magnetic plate, the magnetic plate is disposed on a lower surface of the operating part opposite the magnet and tiltably supported by the frame via the operating part, the plurality of magnetoelectric transducers are disposed around an outer rim of the magnet and output voltage signals indicating voltage values that vary according to a change in distance between the magnetoelectric transducers and the magnetic plate, such that the voltage signals indicate a set of coordinates in three-dimensional space.
