    摘要: A transmitter of a tire inflation monitor performs wireless transmission of data concerning tire inflation pressure from an antenna coil to a receiver. The transmitter includes a signal generation circuit, which is connected to the antenna coil. The signal generation circuit generates a trigger signal for activating or inactivating a controller of the transmitter based on a particular control signal received from a predetermined external controller through the antenna coil. When the controller is activated by the trigger signal, the transmitter starts wireless transmission of the data. When the controller is deactivated by the trigger signal, the transmitter is in a sleep state. In this way, data transmission from the transmitter is easily and externally started or stopped.

The wheel transmitters transmit tire inflation pressure data by radio waves, and the receiver receives the data from the transmitters. The receiver includes reception antennas for receiving radio waves from the transmitters and a receiver unit for processing the received data. The reception antennas include external reception antennas, which are separated from the receiver unit, and at least one internal reception antenna, which is located in the receiver unit. The number of the external reception antennas is less than that of the transmitters by one. As a result, the receiver is simplified without reducing its performance. Also, a loop antenna, which is used as a reception antenna to induce voltage by the magnetic field component of radio waves, improves the efficiency of the receiver.

Each transmitter is powered by a battery. Each transmitter includes a pressure sensor, which measures the inner pressure of the tire at predetermined measuring intervals. Each transmitter periodically and wirelessly transmits data every time the pressure sensor has taken a measurement a predetermined number of times. When the tire pressure changes by an amount that is equal to or greater than a predetermined upper limit value during a predetermined judging time, the transmitter performs an early data transmission. Therefore, an abnormality in the tire pressure is immediately communicated to a driver, and battery strength is conserved.

A magnetized state of the magnetic pieces varies according to the position of the magnetic ring relative to the magnetic pieces. The MR sensor detects the magnetized state of the magnetic piece. The transmission signal contains data based on the detected magnetized state in addition to the tire condition data. This is capable of identifying the tire mount position.
