Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a recombinant collagen, peptide fragments thereof, and sequence variants thereof. A novel Pichia pastoris strain for producing the recombinant collagen, fragments thereof, and sequence variants thereof, and methods of using the recombinant collagen, fragments, and sequence variants thereof are also provided. The present disclosure fulfills a need for environmentally friendly and safe alternatives for skincare.
