摘要: A method is disclosed that enables a user to administer a dialing plan or plans. The disclosed private-branch exchange, or other type of telephone exchange or switch, analyzes the dialing plan that it uses and then makes a recommendation for the dialing plan. In order to analyze the dialing plan, the private-branch exchange (PBX) considers the usage characteristics of one or more number-consuming objects, which includes the telephone numbers associated with the dialing plan. The PBX then identifies, for possible deletion, a list of inactive or underutilized objects such as unused telephone numbers. In some embodiments, the PBX can anticipate the future availability of telephone numbers based on the usage characteristics that were part of the analysis. In at least some of those embodiments, the PBX is able to construct a dialing plan tree and identify a revised dialing plan.

摘要: The present invention is directed to licensing data structures for telecommunication systems. The data structures comprise (a) a lock setting or status to permit the contents of the license file for an operational feature to take precedence over the corresponding translation information for the operational feature or to be used as a default setting if there is not corresponding translation information for the operational feature; (b) first and second value settings for an operational feature to permit a value associated with the operational feature to be set anywhere in the range defined by the first and second value settings; and (c) a right-to-use field for an operational feature that is separate from a setting field for the operational feature to provide flexibility in altering the setting field without deleting the operational feature. The present invention further provides a methodology for providing temporary licenses having different features enabled/disabled than a permanent license.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a system, comprising: a license manager 113 operable to identify the occurrence of a predetermined licensing event and a mode setting agent 124 operable to change, in response to the occurrence of the predetermined licensing event (e.g., an absence of a valid license), from a first licensing mode (e.g., a license normal mode) to a second licensing mode (e.g., a license error mode). The second licensing mode is different from the first licensing mode. In each of the first and second licensing modes a common set of features performed by the telecommunication application (e.g., call processing functions) are operational.
