摘要: An optical device (44) includes three optical modulators, three optical modulator holders (447), a plurality of fluid circulating members (440), a cross dichroic prism (444), a fluid branching section (446), a fluid feed-in section (449) and a fluid pressurizing/feeding section (445). The three optical modulator holders (447) are fitted respectively to the three light-incident surfaces of the cross dichroic prism (444) through three supporting members (448). The fluid feed-in section (449) is fitted to the top surface of the cross dichroic prism (444). The fluid branching section (446) and the fluid pressurizing/feeding section (445) are laid one on the other and fitted to the lower surface of the cross dichroic prism (444).

摘要: An optical modulator holder (4402) has an optical modulator holding unit (4405) having a substantially rectangular U-shaped cross-section and made of heat-conductive material, a plate-like member (4406) made of heat-conductive material, and an optical modulator cooling unit (4407) constituted by a hollow member which is capable of enclosing cooling fluid inside and is made of heat-conductive material. Of the optical modulator holding unit (4405) and the plate-like member (4406), peripheries of openings (4405A1, 4406A) each contact heat-transferably a liquid crystal panel (441). The liquid crystal panel (441) is held inside the rectangular U-shape of the optical modulator holding unit (4405). The optical modulator cooling unit (4407) is formed like a ring whose inner side surface heat-transferably contacts the liquid crystal panel (441), and has an inlet port (4407D) and outlet port (4407E).

An opening 4409A into which the liquid crystal panel 441 can be fitted is formed on the middle frame 4409, and an inner face thereof serves as an exterior position reference face for the liquid crystal panel 441.
