Abstract: A coil component includes a bare body including, in a lamination direction, a first glass layer, a first ferrite layer adjacent to one principal surface side of the first glass layer, and a second ferrite layer adjacent to the other principal surface side of the first glass layer, a coil inside the first glass layer, and outer electrodes on surfaces of the bare body and electrically connected to the coil. Assuming that a region between first and second positions is a first inner region, a region between third and fourth positions is a first outer region, and a region between the second and fourth positions is a first intermediate region, an area rate of pores in the first inner region is greater than in the first intermediate region, and an average crystal particle size of ferrite in the first inner region is smaller than in the first intermediate region.

Abstract: A common-mode choke coil includes a multilayer body, and first and second coils incorporated in the multilayer body. The multilayer body is a cuboid shape including plural stacked non-conductor layers. The first coil includes a first coil conductor. The second coil includes a second coil conductor. With the common-mode choke coil, in a frequency region greater than or equal to 0.1 GHz and less than or equal to 100 GHz (i.e., from 0.1 GHz to 100 GHz), the Sdd21 transmission characteristic is less than or equal to −3 dB at or above 30 GHz, and in a frequency region greater than or equal to 10 GHz and less than or equal to 60 GHz (i.e., from 10 GHz to 60 GHz), the Scc21 transmission characteristic is minimum at or above 20 GHz, and the Scc21 transmission characteristic has a minimum value of less than or equal to −20 dB.

Abstract: A common-mode choke coil includes a multilayer body, a first coil, and a second coil. The multilayer body is a cuboid in shape that includes plural stacked non-conductor layers. The first and second coils are incorporated in the multilayer body. The first coil includes a first coil conductor, and the second coil includes a second coil conductor. The first coil conductor is positioned with gaps SG1 to SG4 interposed between the first coil conductor and the outer periphery surface of the multilayer body. The second coil conductor is positioned with gaps SG5 to SG8 interposed between the second coil conductor and the outer periphery surface of the multilayer body. Of the four absolute values of the differences between the gaps SG1 to SG4 and the corresponding gaps SG5 to SG8, at least two absolute values are greater than or equal to 0.02 mm.

Abstract: An electronic component that has fewer cracks during production is provided. The electronic component includes an outer electrode on a multilayer body, which includes an inner glass layer, a magnetic material layer on top and bottom surfaces of the inner glass layer, and an outer glass layer on top and bottom surfaces of the magnetic material layer. The insulating layers of the inner glass layer and the outer glass layers contain a dielectric glass material that contains a glass material containing at least K, B, and Si, quartz, and alumina. The glass material content of each insulating layer of the inner glass layer ranges from approximately 60%-65% by weight, the quartz content of each insulating layer of the inner glass layer ranges from approximately 34%-37% by weight, and the alumina content of each insulating layer of the inner glass layer ranges from approximately 0.5%-4% by weight.

Abstract: A coil component including a multilayer body, at least one coil provided inside the multilayer body, and outer electrodes disposed on at least one surface of the multilayer body. The multilayer body includes a first magnetic layer, an insulating layer laminated on the first magnetic layer, and a second magnetic layer laminated on the insulating layer. The coil has, at both ends thereof, lead-out portions, each of which extends up to the surface of the multilayer body and is connected to a respective one of the outer electrodes. The outer electrodes are each present over surfaces of the first magnetic layer, the insulating layer, and the second magnetic layer, and a width of a portion of at least one of the outer electrodes contacting the insulating layer is larger than widths of each of portions of that outer electrode contacting the first and second magnetic layers.
