Methods and systems are provided for a clustered storage system. The method assigns a network access address to a virtual network interface card (VNIC) at a first cluster node of a clustered storage system, where a physical network interface card assigned to the network access address is managed by a second cluster node of the clustered storage system; and use the VNIC by a virtual storage server at the first cluster node to communicate on behalf of the second cluster node.

Methods and systems for port reachability are provided. The process obtains an identifier for ports of a broadcast domain to access storage space at a clustered storage system; sends a discovery request to the ports of the broadcast domain; receives a response to the discovery request from some or all the ports; places ports that responded to the discovery request to a first group that indicates that all ports within the group are reachable; and reports ports within the first group to a user to indicate which ports within the broadcast domain are reachable.

Techniques are provided for on-demand creation and/or utilization of containers and/or serverless threads for hosting data connector components. The data connector components can be used to perform integrity checking, anomaly detection, and file system metadata analysis associated with objects stored within an object store. The data connector components may be configured to execute machine learning functionality to perform operations and tasks. The data connector components can perform full scans or incremental scans. The data connector components may be stateless, and thus may be offlined, upgraded, onlined, and/or have tasks transferred between data connector components. Results of operations performed by the data connector components upon base objects may be stored within sibling objects.

Methods and systems for setting up routing in a clustered storage system are provided. The method includes generating a global routing data structure having a plurality of default routes for a clustered storage system having a plurality of nodes; creating a logical interface for a virtual storage system presented to a client system for using storage space at the clustered storage system managed by one of the plurality of nodes; examining the global routing data structure by the plurality of nodes for adding a route for the logical interface when a gateway address of the route is on a same subnet as the logical interface; and storing the route in a routing data structure for the node that manages the logical interface for the virtual storage system.
