    Abstract: A resettable injection training device for simulating an injection is provided in an embodiment herein. The device may include an outer housing, a safety shield having a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end for engaging with a target surface during an injection simulation, the safety shield comprising a retracted position, an extended unlocked position and an extended locked position, a plunger; and a locking tab for interfacing with the safety shield for interfacing with the safety shield the extended locked position, wherein if the safety shield distal end disengages from the target surface during an injection simulation, the safety shield extends to the extended, locked position until the device is reset.

    Abstract: A resettable injection training device embodiment is provided. In one embodiment, the device may include an outer housing comprising locking tabs at its proximal end, a safety shield, the safety shield being slidable relative to the outer housing between a ready-to-fire position, and a fired position, wherein when the safety shield is in a fired position, the injection simulation member is retracted into the outer housing. The device may further include a plunger comprising a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end comprising a plunger contact portion for interfacing with the locking tabs to displace the locking tabs to unlock the safety shield, and a biasing member disposed between the outer housing and the safety shield to extend the shield in a proximal direction upon release of the locking tabs, wherein retraction of the plunger and proximal movement of the outer housing resets the device.

    Abstract: In an embodiment, an injection simulation device is provided. The injection simulation device may include a housing defining an opening, the housing having a proximal end and a distal end, a plunger movable relative to the housing, the plunger comprising a first interfacing portion, and distal movement of the plunger initiates an injection simulation, a rotatable component comprising a proximal end and a distal end, and an aperture extending between the proximal and distal ends of the rotatable component for receiving a portion of the plunger, rotatable component comprising a second interfacing portion for interfacing with the first interfacing portion to rotate the rotatable component when the plunger is moved toward the proximal or distal end of the housing. The injection simulation device may further include a stationary component defining a cavity for receiving the rotatable component, the cavity comprising a fluid, wherein movement of the plunger causes rotational and axial movement of the rotatable component, such that an interface between the rotatable component and the stationary component causes an increase in resistance during distal movement of the plunger, and a decrease in resistance occurs upon proximal movement of the plunger.
