Abstract: In the method, a first device receives a mixed signal including a target signal from a target device among a plurality of second devices and an interfering signal from the plurality of second devices. The first device determines a distribution characteristic of an amplitude of the mixed signal within an amplitude variation range, the distribution characteristic being associated with the target device and an interfering device generating the interfering signal. The first device determines the interfering device from the plurality of second devices based on the distribution characteristic. An interfering device in a communication system may be detected in real-time and accurately.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method, device, and computer readable medium for channel equalization. The method comprises receiving, at a first device, a first signal from a second device via a plurality of subcarriers over a communication channel; sampling the first signal to obtain sampled symbols; and generating a second signal based on the obtained sampled symbols using a direct association between sampled symbols and payloads, the second signal indicating a payload of the first signal carried on an effective subcarrier of the plurality of subcarriers. Through the use of the direct association between sampled symbols and payloads, it is possible to achieve channel equalization in a less complicated, more reliable, and cost-effective manner, so as to extract the payload in the received signal.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method, a device, an apparatus for optical communication and computer-readable medium. The method comprises receiving, at an optical line terminal, an access request from a first optical network unit; in accordance with a determination that the first optical network unit is not registered at the optical line terminal, obtaining a first parameter set from the first optical network unit, and updating an association relationship between a distorted signal received at the optical line terminal and an original signal recovered from the distorted signal, based on the first parameter set. In this way, regarding different levels of optical signal quality attenuation caused by optical network units with different channel responses in one passive optical network, a unified signal compensation scheme can be provided for all optical network units, in order to mitigate transmission distortion of signals on an uplink of optical communication and significantly reduce configuration overheads in practice.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to method, device and computer-readable medium for communication in a Passive Optical Network (PON). The method comprises receiving a first sequence from an Optical Network Unit (ONU) the first sequence being transmitted by using a reference sequence shared with the Optical Line Terminal (OLT) based on a first set of parameters associated with an uplink transmission from the ONU to the OLT; determining parameter adjustment information based on the first sequence and the reference sequence, the parameter adjustment information being used to adjust at least one parameter in the first set of parameters associated with the uplink transmission, to cause transmission property of the uplink to satisfy a predetermined condition; and transmitting the parameter adjustment information to the ONU.

Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed of methods performed at an optical transmitter, devices and computer-readable storage media. For example, the method includes performing a process to select a PAM value from a set of candidate PAM values based on currently transmitted training data bits, transmitted Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) values corresponding to previously transmitted training data bits, and training data bits to be transmitted subsequently, the selected PAM value corresponding to the currently transmitted training data bits. The selected PAM value is transmitted to an optical receiver, and an indication as to whether the optical receiver correctly detects the currently transmitted training data bits is received from the optical receiver. Then, the process is updated at least in part based on the indication. The manner of performing neural network learning at an optical transmitter side to obtain an encoding strategy can maximize the channel allowable capacity.
