Abstract: A UE receives configuration for a common uplink channel to be used by the user equipment to communicate with a BS concerning cell DTX operation by the BS. The UE determines that a cell DTX operation has already started or the BS has signaled that cell DTX operation will start. The UE transmits, over the common uplink channel, an indication of data transmission need concerning cell DTX operation. The BS sends the configuration and starts the cell DTX operation or signals that the same will start. The BS receives the indication of data transmission need concerning the cell DTX operation. The BS determines whether to stay in or abandon the cell DTX operation based at least partly on the received indication of data transmission need.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided. In the context of a method, the method includes identifying a scheduled transmission interval having a beginning time and an end time, based on initial scheduling information received from a network node, where the scheduled transmission interval is longer than a threshold duration for an uplink transmission by the user equipment according to initial scheduling information, where the scheduled transmission interval includes a head end portion and a tail end portion, and the tail end portion accommodates a monitoring period. The method includes transmitting respectively, to a network node, an uplink transmission corresponding to a respective subsequent scheduled transmission interval, according to subsequent scheduling information received from the network node, within the monitoring period before the end time.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method comprising receiving a cell discontinuous transmission, DTX, configuration for a cell, the cell DTX configuration indicating one or more cell DTX non-active periods of the cell; obtaining at least one uplink grant configuration to be applied for one or more uplink data transmissions during the one or more DTX non-active periods of the cell; determining, based on the at least one uplink grant configuration, an uplink grant for the one or more uplink data transmissions; and transmitting the one or more uplink data transmissions using the determined uplink grant during the one or more cell DTX non-active periods.

Abstract: There is disclosed a method including at a serving cell, using cell measurements performed at a neighbouring cell to assist the serving cell in determining whether a serving cell user equipment which supports skip-uplink is in a discontinuous transmission state. The cell measurements performed at the neighbouring cell include measurements of the serving cell user equipment.

Abstract: Balancing latency reduction and user equipment power saving is provided. A method for balancing latency reduction and user equipment power saving may include receiving, from a network entity, an indication of a number of repetitions of an uplink channel and determine at least one duration of at least one timer based on at least the number of repetitions. The method may further transmit the uplink channel with the number of repetitions and starts the timer and determine, based on an expiration status of the at least one timer, a discontinuous reception state of the apparatus comprising a plurality of active and inactive states.

Abstract: User Equipment (UE), methods, and software that selectively transfer data to a mobile network. In one embodiment, the UE identifies data buffered for one or more applications miming on the UE while the UE is in non-connected mode, determines a number of other UEs receiving signaling messages on a control plane to transition from non-connected mode to connected mode, and estimates a load on the control plane based on the number of other UEs receiving signaling messages to transition from non-connected mode to connected mode. The UE defers a transition from non-connected mode to connected mode to delay a transfer of the data from the UE to the mobile network over the radio interface when the load on the control plane exceeds a threshold
