摘要： A split ring for use in assembling a bearing retainer onto a roll. The split ring helps keep a mounting jack in compression with the bearing retainer as the mounting jack compresses the bearing retainer onto the roll. In some embodiments, the split ring includes a plurality of apertures that are each configured to receive a drive mechanism that helps collapse the mounting jack to allow for removal of the split ring and the mounting jack once the bearing retainer is assembled onto the roll.
