    摘要: It is desired to prevent generation of negative pressure in a bearing space and to prevent entry of foreign matter such as water into a bearing. The bearing includes an inner race (1), an outer race (3), rolling elements (5) disposed between raceways (2 and 4) of the inner and outer races and retained by a retainer (6), and seal assemblies (7) provided at the respective ends of the outer race (3). Each seal assembly (7) includes a seal case (9) fitted on one end of the outer race (3), and an oil seal (11) mounted in the seal case. A check valve (20) is mounted in the seal case (9) and allows only a flow of gas from outside the bearing into the bearing space. A filter (29) is mounted in a flow passage in the check valve and allows passage of gas and prevents passage of liquid and solids.

The chock assembly 102L and bearing assembly 100 at the second end of the roll 12 is then positioned onto the opposite end of the roll 12, and a connecting sub-assembly 300, 400, 504A is secured to the second end of the axial center rod 22. The connecting sub-assembly engages the second chock assembly 102L and bearing assembly 100, and is adjusted to achieve a desired bearing setting for both bearing assemblies 100 through the center rod 22.

    摘要: A system is disclosed for use in a rolling mill oil film bearing to remove a laminar flow of oil exiting tangentially from between a rotating sleeve and a fixed bushing surrounding the sleeve. The system comprises confinement surfaces cooperating with the sleeve and the bushing to define an annular chamber arranged to receive the exiting laminar flow of oil. Impellers project into the chamber and are rotatable with and at the velocity of the sleeve to thereby propel the oil around the annular chamber. An outlet communicates tangentially with the annular chamber for removing oil being propelled around the chamber by the rotation of the impellers. The size of the outlet in relation to the volume of oil received in the annular chamber is such that the chamber remains filled with oil during steady state operation of the bearing.

    摘要: A lubrication delivery system for a rolling facility having a plurality of roll stands. A centralized lubrication source is arranged to supply lubrication to a plurality of liners within the roll stands during a rolling campaign. The lubrication source can supply one or more lubricants via controlled conduits in fluid communication with the liners. Liners are provided with a plurality of conduits for directing pressurized lubricant from the centralized lubricant source so as to minimize lubricant loss. A plurality of different lubricants may be provided at a centralized source with a controller or other device directing a flow of pressurized lubricant to the plurality of roll stands during the campaign.
