    摘要: Disclosed are an energy recovery apparatus and method for a plasma display panel. The energy recovery apparatus includes a sustain voltage source for supplying a sustain voltage, a panel capacitor formed equivalently at a discharge cell, a first charging circuit for forming a first charging path when one side of the panel capacitor is charged, a second charging circuit for forming a second charging path when the other side of the panel capacitor is charged, a first power circuit for supplying the sustain voltage to the panel capacitor and forming the first charging path, and a second power circuit for supplying a ground voltage generated from a ground voltage source to the panel capacitor and forming the second charging path. The energy recovery apparatus and method according to the present invention can decrease components in number and reduce power consumption and manufacturing cost by charging the other side of the panel capacitor using a charging voltage of one side of the panel capacitor.

    摘要: An energy recovering apparatus and method for a plasma display panel that is capable of supplying a sustain pulse having a rapid rising time. In the apparatus and method, a voltage source supplies a sustain voltage to the panel. A first inductor recovers an energy stored in the panel into the voltage source, and a second inductor receives energy from the voltage source in which the recovered energy has been stored to charge the received energy. Switching devices shuts off a path between the voltage source and the second inductor in a state in which energy has been stored in the second inductor to derive an inverse voltage into the second inductor and allows said inverse voltage to be applied to the panel.

    摘要: A plasma display panel employs a voltage circuit having an input and an output, the voltage circuit configured for supplying a negative voltage for an electrode. The plasma display panel also employs a power supply that has a positive terminal and a negative terminal, where the negative terminal is connected to the input of the voltage circuit. The power supply is otherwise configured relative to the voltage circuit such that the voltage difference between the output and the input of the voltage circuit is fixed as a function of the power supply. By fixing this voltage difference, parasitic capacitance is minimized, power consumption and calorific value are reduced, and the plasma display panel operates in a more stable manner.
