    摘要： A copying apparatus is provided with an image reading device for reading image information on an original as electrical image signals, a manually operable device for designating an arbitrary area of the original and apparatus for outputting a gate signal in accordance with the area designated by the manually operable device. In response to the gate signal thus formed, a gate device extracts from the electrical signals generated by the reading device image signals corresponding to the designated area which signals are stored in a memory device. A recording device can then record an image in the designated area on plural sheets of recording medium in response to repeated readout of the image signals from the memory device.

The image recording device is constructed with a color signal forming device to form, by scanning an original image, a plurality of electrical color signals corresponding to a plurality of mutually different colors, a plurality of recording members to perform recording on a recording medium with colors corresponding to the plurality of colors, and selection device to select whether the color signals are to be applied to a recording member in colors corresponding to those of the color signals, or they are to be applied to a recording member in colors not corresponding to those of the color signals.

    摘要： An image processing apparatus has CCDs for reading image data of an original, an edge detector for detecting edges of an area specified on the original with a loop or marks of a specific color, an area detector for detecting the specified area, memories for storing the image data read by the CCDs, and a data selector and a data switching circuit for selecting the image data read by one of the CCDs which is to be supplied to an inkjet head for recording. For preventing contamination of the original, the loop or marks can be drawn on the original through an original cover including a transparent or semitransparent sheet member facing the image of the original. Images inside and outside the area or areas can be selectively reproduced in various combinations of the normal mode, red output modes involving different types of color conversion, and extinguishing mode. Image data from another source which is stored in another memory can be inserted at a desired part of the reproduced copy.

These recording heads allow recording in binary mode, halftone mode, normal mode, and fine mode. A printing system has at least two recording units. One recording unit has a plurality of recording heads for recording in yellow, cyan and magenta, and the other recording unit has a recording head for recording in black. Upon a signal scanning operation, the printing system is capable of printing a plurality of copies at high speed and with good quality. A change in size of the original does not result in a problem since the apparatus is capable of feeding a recording paper sheet of corresponding size or printing only for a desired length.

For example, the system may also include an input unit for entering image information and a control unit for selectively supplying image information entered by the input unit to at least one of the image recording units. As another example, the system may include a plurality of input units and a control device for detecting, during recording by all of the recording units, a new recording requirement and designating at least one of the recording units to interrupt its current recording operation and fulfill the new recording requirement. The system may also include a plurality of storage trays, for storing sheets on which recording has been performed by the recording units, in accordance with the one of the plurality of input means through which image information has been entered by the recording units.
