摘要： An oil-free process for forming a fused toner image on a receiver comprises: forming on a receiver an image comprising toner particles that contain a non-crosslinked linear polymeric binder, a colorant, and a release agent; and contacting the receiver bearing the toner particle image with a fuser member comprising a support and a release layer overlying the support. The release layer comprises a cured fluorocarbon thermoplastic random copolymer, a particulate filler comprising zinc oxide and tin oxide and a cured aminosiloxane copolymer, the cured fluorocarbon thermoplastics random copolymer containing null(CH2CF2)xnull, null(CF2CF(CF3)ynull, and null(CF2CF2)znull subunits, wherein x is from 1 to 40 or 60 to 80 mole percent, y is from 10 to 90 mole percent, z is from 10 to 90 mole percent, and xnullynullz equals 100 mole percent. The receiver in contact with the fuser member is subjected to conditions effective in the absence of a release oil for fixing the toner particle image to the receiver.

摘要： A fusing-station member, which member can be a compliant fuser roller or a compliant pressure roller, for use in a fusing station of an electrostatographic machine, and which member includes a base cushion layer formed on a core member, with the base cushion layer coated by a thin protective gloss control layer. In certain preferred embodiments, the base cushion layer is a highly cross-linked condensation-polymerized polyorganosiloxane material made by thermal curing of a formulation which includes three types of filler particles, namely hollow flexible microballoon particles, strength-enhancing solid particles, and thermal-conductivity-enhancing solid particles. In other preferred embodiments, expandable microspheres are included in lieu of the hollow flexible microballoon particles in an otherwise similar uncured formulation, which expandable microspheres are transformed into expanded hollow microballoon particles during the thermal curing.

摘要： A fuser release agent dispensing system for a rotatable fuser, including a transfer stage and a metering stage. The transfer stage includes a first roller having a surface rotatable about a fixed axis, and a second roller positionable for contacting the first roller. The second roller is positionable against the fuser roller. The first roller is driven by the fuser roller and it, in turn, drives the second roller. The metering stage includes a sump for supplying release agent, a metering roller with a surface for removing release agent from the sump and a translational assembly configured to move the metering roller surface into and out of contact with the first roller surface. The amount of fluid release agent transferred from a sump to a fuser is controlled in response to a change in one or more image reproduction parameters.

摘要： A fuser assembly for an electrostatographic reproduction apparatus including a fuser member and a pressure member, a release oil oiler system for said fuser assembly, and a cleaner for cleaning the pressure member. The fuser member and pressure member are locatable in operative association to apply heat and pressure to a marking particle image carried by a receiver member to fix such marking particle image to the receiver member as the receiver member is transported between the fuser member and pressure member. The pressure member cleaner has a cleaning member including a fabric material. A drive mechanism is associated with the cleaning member for moving the cleaning member relative to the pressure member such that the cleaning member is located in operative association with the pressure member, or the cleaning member is located in spaced relation remote from the pressure member. A logic and control unit selectively activates the drive mechanism to move the cleaning member to the operative association location or the remote location.

摘要： An on-line gloss/density meter for an electrostatographic reproduction apparatus in which pigmented marking particle images are fixed to receiver members respectively by application of heat and/or pressure as such receiver members travel along a transport path through a fuser assembly. The on-line gloss/density meter includes at least one light emitter and at least one light collector, respectively mounted in operative association with the transport path so that light from the emitter, reflected from a receiver member, and is detected and a signal corresponding to such reflected light is produced. A guide element is associated with the transport path and directs a receiver member into a predetermined specified location relative to the beam of light. A logic and control unit, responsive to signals from the light collector, precisely controls operating parameters for the electrostatographic reproduction apparatus.
